Co-host and house band guitarist James Bartholomew was back from Glastonbury and assorted other places where he'd been gigging with his band Jayler, and house band drummer Luke was back from holidays, so Sunday night at Pitchers was a bit of a reunion. Kept me pretty busy too. I preferred it when it was on Fridays, with an 11pm close rather than 10:30 and with the day after not being a school day - not that that affects me any more, but audiences drift away a bit earlier.

And I bravely risked arrest by wearing a "Free Palestine" T-shirt.

I actually had a blinding one.

I’ve got a job interview tomorrow and the stress is getting to me. Partner and I decided that I needed to get out tonight so I went to the engineers arm in coalvile for OM night. @Nail Soup has visited.
When I got there I explained to the hostess that I wasn’t sure if I was getting up but she gently pushed me into sweet home Alabama with her and another guitarist which went quite well, she then decided to do Dreams which went better than I thought it would as I’ve only ever played along to YouTube on both tunes
I was just taking bass off when the next performer came up and asked the guitarist to stay instead of using a backing track. She then asked me to Stay on as well and do a song I don’t even know. When id stopped hyper-ventilating the guitarist gave me the chords and said “just wing it,they are all so pissed they won’t know”. So I did …

Teenage dirt bag (another first: I used my five string properly and started on fret 5 to get the E, I’m starting to avoid open strings)

sire v7 5 string sold to me by some serial rogue called @lee650 And a zoom b2 on ampeg patch

shoes ? Brown. Next. That is all I know

Open mic night at the Rhodehouse in Sutton Coldfield last night. This was a sort of audition slot for the Bonnevilles in order to try and get a gig there. Backline is all supplied and there's a PA with sound engineer. The house band was impressive, there were a couple of good solo artists, and we did five songs and got a pretty good reception. Provided bass setup was an Aguilar Tonehammer head and pair of Aguilar cabs (SL112s I think). Must get Mrs Zero and me booked in there some time. I only did backing vocals on a couple of numbers. My mic wasn't on initially but when the SE saw me singing into it, he unmuted me - I'd never heard my voice so clearly in a monitor before and I was rather startled and only slightly horrified.
