The first bassline I played (before I even had a bass of my own - it was borrowed) was 'Flash' by Queen 😃. More seriously, go on Youtube and learn about the simple 12 bar blues progression. With that under your belt a number of songs will be available to play along to. There's a great techniques section on this forum, too. Bassist on the Run Posted March 13, 2023 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Welcome Colin, just play mate don’t worry about what or how it sounds just yet, just get those hands moving and finger plucking unless your using a pick in which case throw the bass out the window lol only messing bass and pick sounds awesome. Good luck with it I hope you get as much enjoyment out of playing as I’m sure we all have over the years. I won’t lie it takes a lot of time and dedication to get to a level but it’s worth it.
