Stunning bass this!

In reality of the two Alembic basses I've been fortunate enough to have had a play about on..The Elan easily outplayed the vastly more expensive all bells and whistles Series 11, This is a lot of bass, and in Alembic price terms! An out and out bargain...GLWTS 😃👍

I have one of these Elan basses, although mine has a P/P setup not a PJ setup and they are a heck of a bass guitar.  Whilst they don't have the flexibility tone wise of the more expensive alembics they  have an unique voice  and hold their own with a lot of dignity clarity, punch, warmth, articulation and you can still get a lot of mileage with it's tonal palette. It's such a versatile bass. All the best with the sale.

Thought so.  You let me have a play on it at a bass bash.  One of the nicest fretted basses I've ever played; very even tempered and vice free.  Though as well as double Ps, doesn't yours have separate filters per pickup too?

Amazing value at £2k, I'd presumed these things cost Megabucks.

That particular bass is an elan plus, it has a single filter only plus it has bass and treble boost/cut switches. Glad you liked playing it.

Am I going crazy. Your letting a £12000 bass go for 2 grand.? What am I missing here.

I was going to ask that... But took a look on reverb;. This is a good price but not outrageously cheap.

Why some brands hold their value so well and other don't is one of the great mysteries.  Famous players is one factor I guess perceived collectabilty, investment opportunity and fashion I guess.  Whatever, this remains a steal at £2k.
