I just love listening to people who can sing.

Well I see LSD has been done so I won't add to that. But what about Cat Power? Yes she can be flakey, but when she is on....

We've had Russian singers, so what about Leonid Kharitonov? (Sorry about the sound quality.)

And there's this impromptu performance of "Katyusha"  on an airliner. These harmonies make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up - surely these women must be a singing ensemble?

PS "Katyusha" is an important song for Russians, one that has become associated with their 41-45 war. A bit like the British and "White Cliffs of Dover". Except it's a much better song...

@Stingray5, what a lovely piece of music! Thanks for posting.

For me, one of the great results in this thread is the sheer breadth of musical talent on display. Horribly clichéd I know, but in that respect it's exceeded my wildest expectations.

Any excuse to pull this up. All round great piece of music that starts with a bass solo of all things. Always like listening to Ian Thornleys vocals though.

More acapella from me. Not so sure this counts as a Christmas song, but whatever...:

Why does everyone have to do some version of hallelujah?

Erm, because it's a good song, perhaps...? Just a thought... :scratch_one-s_head:

If it bugs you though, feel free to post something different. :)

Apparently when I was a boy I had a lovely singing voice, but adolescence combined with a love of shouty rock and punk music plus the fact that really don't like how my voice sounds when recorded (much like the Red Dalek) means I haven't really done much singing for the last 40 years.
However I think I'm missing out a lot in my musical development by not being at least a competent singer, so I've decided to look at getting some lessons in order to improve the, pitching, range and tone of my singing. Is there anyone in Nottingham that Basschat members would recommend? I am really looking for a personal recommendation rather than a list of Google results.
I'm not looking at becoming a fantastic lead vocalist, but some help in being able to provide a competent vocal performance that I would not be embarrassed about is what I am after.
      Thanks in advance!
