Mike Lull PJ4 Precision Custom bass with flamed/roasted neck and gig bag

Mike Lull Custom bass, four string with Mike Lull gig bag. The bass is in very good condition but has some small chips to the paintwork on the rear of the body and a couple on the edge of the guitar body. These marks were on it when I bought it from its previous owner but they have never bothered me, they don't affect its sound or playability and you can't see them when you are playing it. From the front is looks great, most importantly it sounds superb. The high quality craftsmanship you would expect from Mike Lull.

This model is currently £3,000 new in the UK.

This bass is black with a 3-ply tortoiseshell scratch plate; it has a flamed/roasted maple neck and fretboard, the fretboard looks birds-eye as well. It is fitted with lightweight USA Hipshot tuners and also a drop-D tuner which stays in tune perfectly, also Schaller locking strap lock studs.

The pickups are Nordstrand with an NP4 (precision) at the neck and a Dual Coil p'up at the bridge. This is a passive bass.

The neck is slim and fast and is 43mm at the nut; the bass weights exactly 8lb on digital scales, so is nice and light. Currently fitted with new La Bella flat strings giving that great Precision sound. No fret wear.

Comes with Mike Lull gig bag. I will post for £12 (UK) and it will be well protected in cardboard outer layer. If you would like to come and look or play let me know and we can arrange a Covid-safe visit (Bucks). Any questions, please ask. Also advertised on an auction site :)

Thanks to all who have posted the kind messages above, this is indeed a fabulous bass that I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and playing. There has been a lot of interest on this as you can imagine and several good offers. I have now sold it so will close this posting out as 'Sold'.

I have also listed on this forum a lovely 5 string Sandberg TM5 with an ebony fretboard, if that catches anyone's interest please make me an offer!

Squier Vintage Modified P-Bass with luthier made 5 string neck in Wenge and Maple with Ebony fretboard.   The bridge was moved back to make the scale length to 35 inch scale.   Pickups upgraded to Delano PMVC 6 FE/M2 and pots changed (original pots included).   Hipshot Kickass bridge and Hipshot tuners.   Set of D'Addario Flatwounds installed a few weeks ago (ECB81-5SL)   Set of Roundwounds included (about 6 months of use).   Body refinished in Sherwood Green and in excellent condition with only a slight 2cm blemish (see pic).   Due to different pickups the pickguard doesn't cover the recesses fully, will need a custom pickguard if you want to fix it (didn't really bother me).   All work done by previous owner, had the bass since May and it plays great, no issues, selling as I prefer a 4 string and want something lighter / thinner.   Quite unique bass for those who want that Precision sound and an extra 5th string.   Test and pickup encouraged, will ship to UK for another £25 - I will include a budget gig bag with it. International shipping possible, please enquire.   Any questions or pic requests welcome.

Picked this up locally, gentlemen said he got it from this very forum, excellent sounding bass

The bass itself is listed on Andre's website with a rosewood fretboard, yet this one is maple. So it's certainly not standard.
      http://www.vanderend.nl/jb4-vintage/

It also has a hipshot fitted to the E string.

Bass requires some work to make it perfect, which I'm not the right guy for, as such I've decided to knock some money off.
Has an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp fitted which is a positive, I'd question the way it's been hooked up as one of the switches doesn't alter the sound at all. Otherwise really powerful.
There is a hole in the body where someone looks to have tried to change a pickup.

Bass comes with a Music Man hardcase.

If you would like to arrange a play or need to ask any questions, I'm happy to oblige. Thank you for your interest.

1983 Squire JV Precision bass, candy apple red, rosewood board. All original domestic JV, alder body, relatively light – 3,9kg. As one can expect the bass has been played a lot and shows some dings and dongs here and there, patina on the hardware, etc., but is all original and in more than perfect functional condition: neck is straight as an arrow with minimal truss rod tension (it has a loooot more room to go), also the neck is extremely comfortable at 42mm at the nut and the playability is to die for – out of 12 precisions that I possess incl. very nice vintage fenders, this is the most comfortable to play: super nice neck profile (flat, but not too much) and extremely low action. This is also the last JV I have and the best compared to all the others I had over the years (around 10 if I remember correctly). With flats it does the Motown job, with rounds it sounds deep but aggressive.
More detailed pictures can be found here - https://photos.app.goo.gl/1AJdmjTWwmQ3Qi7R9
Why am I selling it if its such a great bass – I am letting go a part of my collection and keeping only the more vintage precisions. I am aware the asking price is not among the cheapest – I have sold JVs here for 500 pounds some years ago, but am also not quite sure I want to let this one go, so if it doesn’t sell for this, I’ll be happy to keep it. Plus - try to find a CAR with rosewood board - it took me close to a decade. Also, if you purchase it and do not find yourself to like it – I can take it back as long as you cover the shipping and payment fees.
Any questions – please, feel free to ask. Price includes shipping to most parts of EU.

I bought this new last year. It's only been used a handful of times because I'm playing bass a lot less now. Beautiful natural finish and solid tone with a nice bit of growl typical of Lakland basses.
Collection is preferred, but I can ship at extra cost.
Feel free to message me with any questions. See below for the official blurb.

The 44-64 is modelled after the venerable workhorse '64 P bass. One custom-wound Lakland pickup provides a bruising punch and drive that nails the vintage split humbucker tone, sending it through the roof with full voicing and modern energy. The body and 34" scale maple neck have an excellent balance.
