Sibob
Pretty sure it's a Vigier!...don't tell Ped Although seeing as they're miming, could still well be his stingray on the recording! Si
peteb
The chuckle brother in question is Steve “Boltz” Bolton, who also played on the Who’s Tommy tour (in the late 80s I think), did loads of sessions and a few bit part acting jobs (mainly TV ads)! I played a few support gigs for his band when he ventured up the M1 in the early 90s! The bass Pino is playing in the clip looks like a Vigier to me – I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong….. Stingray5
+1 for the Vigier though can't make out the exact model
Hit&Run
It does look like a Vigier, though I know he's got a fretless pedulla somewhere.
4000
Definitely Vigier. You can see the logo right at the start ( I only watched about 40 seconds of it..).

I've met him at a couple of corporate gigs, nice bloke.
OutToPlayJazz
It's an Arpege fretless. Lovely colour as well. Cool sound. Is he using an octaver or something? It's got a real quality thud on that back pickup as well, although some of that could be some of the typical over-engineered 80's sound Rich. wombatboter
Because I am very old I can recall Pino being interviewed by the bassist mag and I think I recall him saying he played that track on the pedulla, on which he subsequently wrecked the fretboard with his slap playing. I would say that is a Vigier in the video as well.
I feel also old and remember the same interview mentioning the Pedulla on that song. hubrad
I read an interview yonks back in which he said that, for studio work, he would turn up for a session with just his bass and a Boss OC-2. Anything else was up to the studio or songwriter.
hubrad
P.S. definitely an octaver. Try it - it's a very satisfying sound to make!

Delberthot
sacriledge - they clipped the video before the fast running bit at the end. I remember vividily having a copy of Bassist in front of me with the transcription of this song and playing along with my DOD Octoplus and defretted Trace Elliot T-Bass 5 string.
