!!! TRADED !!! YAMAHA TRB-5P from the 23rd of August 1995
Etalle, Belgium

Recommended Posts

YAMAHA TRB-5P from the 23rd of August 1995. This model was discontinued in 1996.

Would prefer selling it, but trades are always welcome, especially for a fretless bass 4, 6 or 8 (no octave strings) strings unlined are my preferences.

Simply the best P/J fiver on the market with the extra piezos that you can really use, way far better than my previous BB2025X and to date the best TRB I've ever owned. The Yamaha TRB-5P is still the main bass used by Abraham LABORIEL, there must be a reason...

Non-smoking environment as usual.

I'm only selling this terrific P/J fiver because I really have problems with odd numbers basses. I know... My loss is your gain.

The bass has been fully set up professionally by Christophe LEDUC. It has a new battery and has been fitted with a brand new set of Newtone Diamond Stainless Steel Hex Core strings (42 - 60 - 75 - 96 - 120), which fit the bass to perfection.

This fantastic Yamaha will also come with a brand new spare Newtone Diamond Stainless Steel Hex Core strings set (42 - 60 - 75 - 96 - 120), with two high C's, just in case.

What you see is what you get !

Look at the pictures taken under different angles in natural light to see the real condition and the real colour : some knocks, dings and dongs due to its age (almost 25 years), but nothing serious. It has been professionally refretted by a previous owner. The ouput jack has been changed from a barrel one to a Telecaster type, which is much more convenient.

Don't hesitate to ask for more.

Of course, as it was designed for a low B.

As I wrote it's still Abraham LABORIEL number one bass ! Must be a reason for that, no ?

Possible trades 4 string- MM Fender Overwater Lakland
      Pictures and video added
This is a true beauty I’ve decided should be with someone else who will treasure it and play it more then I and I.
I had one of these the first time around - then Ricks, Celinder and CS basses but always hankered back to a real 60s Jazz - then this very special laid-back looking instrument came up.
Alder body with ebony fretboard and beautiful maple binding by master luthier Jimmy Moon. 'Very comfortable A' profile slim neck - slimmer than '64 CSs I've owned.
The neck is in lovely condition, has a subtle flaming and like the rest of the bass has acquired the sweetest sound, character and the authentic patina and feel only 50 years can give.
Sounds just as you would expect - an authoritative true vintage tone with a wide palette and a comfortable 9lb.
Originally sunburst - pictured, the previous owner who bought the bass new. It has all original pick ups and electronics.
He took it for a set up to a music dealer where some oik damaged the truss rod which is when Mr Moon was commissioned to make the bass unique.
The ebony fingerboard is gorgeous and as you can see is set off by the understated mother of pearl dots.
      That’s it.
Stay safe, stay healthy and stay in tune.
Based near Manchester, could meet within reason, comes with substantial Fender case.
PS - I am a professional photographer - the buyer will receive a Marcus Miller poster with my compliments. https://www.william-ellis.com/

      Price includes shipping!
      Any questions let me know.

      Hia dudes!
I'm making some demo videos for Newtone Strings and was curious as to what people look for when looking for strings.
Would you like to hear a mix of styles? Or a specific style for a specific string set?
Do you want to hear the strings in context of a mix, or just in their own? Would you like to hear them with a pick and drive as well as clean and fingerstyle?
Any feedback or suggestions would be massively appreciated!
      Stay safe dudes!

So I’ve decided I probably need a p-bass in my life but do I go for new or vintage? If vintage, is there any truth to the horrors of the CBS years or is that a myth? Maybe the build quality of MIJ is the way to go or do I just get something brand new(ish)? In the depths of lockdown, getting about to try stuff is not really an option so I’m looking for opinions. Yes, I know there’s a ton of stuff on here already but it’s bewildering so at the risk of getting shot down in sunburst, thought I’d put the question out there again.
