In which case, as a bass player who occasionally has to play drums, am I now evidence of the missing evolutionary transition species 🙂 ? 1 Quote
SimonK Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Happy Easter everyone. Had our pro drummer return for a visit at the service this morning. Neither of us could make the practice on Friday so we rocked up and just played - much easier to do when the drummer knows what he's doing! Finished with "Happy Day" which is quite a rocking song. 3 Quote

A Very Happy Easter to all too. We finished with Phil Wickham's 'Living Hope' - a bit of an earworm of a chorus to send everyone out 1 Quote
Richard R Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) Hi all, I have the following practice amp/combo listed in the marketplace: On 27/04/2025 at 16:42, Richard R said: For sale is the perfect practice / small gig amp: the EBS Session 60. Bought from here in 2019 and has been my practice amp ever since, with a couple of outings to church and bass bashes. These sound SO much better than things like the little Fender Rumble 30 and let's be honest, you want to sound good when you practice. This is probably a Mk1, but I don't know for sure. Selling for what I paid for it, and at less than these seem to be going for on the market. The only reason for selling is that I've been given an Ashdown combo by a very good friend who sadly isn't gigging any more, and I don't have space for two amps in my small music room. (Actually the EBS is more use as it has a headphone out and line in, but I couldn't turn down the Ashdown even though it's not really what I need right now) Specs as follows: Power: 60 W RMS, 1 x 10 "+ 2" Tweeter, Monitor tilt back Volume, Bass & Treble controls, a "Character" switch which seems to add a little more warmth and an "Enhance Filter" switch Input gain control with Peak LED Headphone output and balanced DI output Ground Lift AUX input (RCA) with input volume control Dimensions (H x W x D): 37.6 x 31 x 34.3 x cm, Weight: ~16 kg (from EBS site, not weighed) Cheap cover included, the fish patch should peel off if you want to remove it. Pickup in Solihull, West Midlands, or can meet up near Milton Keynes/Newport Pagnell as I'm working there most weeks. However if anyone has a use for it in their church - youth band, someone starting out who needs a practice amp but can't necessarily afford one, whatever you think would put it to good use - then PM me as I'm happy to donate. Edited Thursday at 18:05 by Richard R Now sold, sorry. Quote

That's a really kind offer - we have a 17 year old bass player who is in need of an amp so I tried to give him one of my Trace Elliot combos but after trying to pick it up he asked if I could give him a preamp with a headphone out instead - youth of today aren't as rock 'n roll as we were! This looks far more sensible for church use although I'm too far away. Quote
Richard R Posted May 2 Posted May 2 (edited) @SimonK- It's a perfect use case for him. Meet up half way on the M40 near Oxford? Edited May 2 by Richard R Quote

Chadu25 Posted Thursday at 10:25 Posted Thursday at 10:25 (edited) Yamaha BB435 sounding good live on one of our recent Baptism service. Signal chain goes: bass>subsonic octaver>DCX bass> Neptunium>FoH Our online sound guys did a great job mixing it. Anyway, we got a couple of people baptised during the morning and noon service. Amazing to seee how people are transformed surrendering their lives to follow Christ. Have a blessed week bass friends! Edited Thursday at 10:28 by Chadu25 2 Quote
LeftyP Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago We had a multi-church event this week called Living Word. Thursday night was our church band's turn to lead. I think the attached photo of me is the most flattering one I've seen. That's me (or my legs) hidden behind the right hand PA speaker! No-one notices the bass player. 1 Quote
Owen Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It shows us enough to suggest you are not playing a Lefty P! Quote
