Took all the Indonesia and Tribute logos off and never mention it.

The stamp on the back of the headstock should look like a cirlcle of writing and has has the word Indonesia missing. It would also have a production number. The stamp on the front is missing the USA or Tribute reference.
If the seller has three of them as he says in the add he should know.

I looked at this one and wondered, I think it originally had a buy it now price of £500 which immediately raised my suspicions, if he has 3 and hasn't bother to disclose this is a Tribute model then he deserves to wind up in court!

Place of manufacture aside ... are they much different to the "real" ones?

.. and presumably THIS one (same price at present) http://www.ebay.co.u...%3D282486684839is the real thing?

Zoom in on the front of the neck photo it still says "Tribute Series" but again the seller hasn't bothered to mention it! I would be interested to know the difference between the US basses and the Tributes, I have a Tribute M2000 bass and I am struggling to find anything I like about it, I assume given their good reputations the US bass is entirely different?

Tributes and USA basses are pretty close but having had both I can usually tell the difference. It is a feel thing to do with the finish and neck I think although I have had one superb Tribute L2000 that really shone. I have to say that I don't really get the M series as it seems to me that they have taken the outstanding and distinctive L series and made it more like several other basses with thew M's.
I prefer the L's and SB's. I would like to try a Kiloton...may even buy a new one one day.

Yep - it is the usual differences between oriental and USA builds.
A friend has a tribute ASAT and I have a 1990/91 USA model.
To the eye it is hard to tell the difference but as soon as you pick the USA up and plug it in the differences leap out at you.

Both sound and refinement of playing experience. Sad that with so many people buying tributes there are not that many "proper" G&Ls about to give people ths chance of actually hearing and feeling the difference.

I messaged him a few days ago. No response.

He responded to me on weight.

In that ad what does, "The Iain in these is bucket proof. " mean? Predictive text winning in the rush to get this listed.

I've got an L2000 Tribute and it's an absolute peach; light, fabulous neck, good fret work. The one I've got is listed as "Premium" Tribute by some retailers and as far as I can tell this means that it has nicer looking wood as it has blueburst transparent finish front and back rather than a black back. The L2000 Tributes have the USA pickups and build quality is excellent. I paid £270 for mine with a hard case, it's 9/10 condition.

I'd love to have a USA one.

Someone has paid £442 for that Tribute plus £20 shipping.
He could have had this one for a bit more with free shipping https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/right-handed-bass-guitar/g-l-tribute-l-2000-electric-bass-guitar-tobacco-sunburst
