there's one or two 1/2 decent fx in the zoom if you spend a little time messing & the delay could prove useful.
There are some seriously good sounds in the Zoom if you work at it. Stick it in a blender and it's even better. I used to use mine for all my dirty tones, as well as wah and delays and phaser etc.

I realise something pretty fundamental is missing from my pedal "board", i'm gonna build one as soon as i get back to uni.

Not pictured is my crybaby bass which is back in canters and my newly procured behringer limiter which is yet to arrive.
Unfortunately pictured is my cat who wouldn't move out of the way......

I'm pretty happy with this setup for now, once i get a board and some decent cabling (I'm thinking george l's probably) it'll stay like this for a while though i'll probably sell the limiter, i only really bought it out of curiosity to see if its worth me bothering with a limiter/compressor, and at £11 from bassmankev i cant really complain. My next steps after a board and cabling will probably be a decent pedal tuner to replace the korg crap'o'matic, and maybe a feedback loop pedal (mobius or an ls2). This board does what i want it to, which is making very strange noises, but also sensible noises. But always noises.

Here's my (homemade) pedalboard, not the most beautiful, but it's very small, light and does the job.
Bought the Catalinbread Hyper Pak yesterday and swapped out the crap cables for George L's last night - lovely! I use an EBow a fair bit and this board gives me some very useful sounds...still experimenting... ;)
Nice board.

How do you find the Hyperpak?
Thanks!

The Hyper Pak hasn't been used in anger yet, so I'm reserving full judgment for now, although I can't see my initial thoughts changing appreciably .
I wanted a distortion/od and based on the review by Tayste_2000 (previous owner of my modded EHX MM w/Hazarai) that you can find [post="0"]HERE[/post], I knew it was a great pedal and should be what I was after.
Vintage & Rare in Denmark St. had one, so I took my 'board along to give it a crack. I thought that such a small pedal with just 2 knobs would be lacking somewhere...WRONG! Fiendishly good tonal range from gentle od to punchy distortion. It's uncompressed, sensitive to player touch and there's no low-end loss either. I imagine it'll sound even better at decent volume in a band situation...

A mad fantasy: a fully-loaded, bantam-sized pedalboard, that can only be used wearing very pointy shoes ;)

After spending much of my time time being a pedal board voyeur I think it's high time I got pics of my board on here.

I'm reluctantly considering popping a cap in my bassdrive's ass - purely for size reasons. I actually love this pedal, specially on comp cut mode but I can squeeze another couple of pedals in it's place. One of them would have to be a replacement od/distortion and I'm thinking of going down the Hyperpak route so I can maximise the space I have left - which will hopefully be for a delay. I'm looking at a a carbon copy or a Boss dd? of some description. But then again I'm also thinking of getting a trem.

So much gas, so little space - woe is me ;)
Nice to see someone else with a Meatwad.
Yeah it's become a firm favourite. Took a while to get my head round it, but when you find that g-spot it's amazing. I didn't go for the expression pedal input option at the time as I could just about afford the base model (well I couldn't even afford that but the credit card could)! I see you use yours with the expression pedal - does it sound as fandabby as I think it would?

I get a lovely sound when I put the bass drive infront of it.

You seem to be forgetting that Catalinbread do a Trem the size of a Hyperpak :P You could easily fit them both and a carbon copy in the space between the Fulltone and Wah.

The only downside is the Bespeco VM19 volume pedal (recommended for Meatball circuits) which feels a bit crap and weedy but thankfully doesn't have any slop at least, and would be cheap to replace. And often all the "juicy" part of the sweep is concentrated in a small range on the pedal, but that's the same on the Moog I tried too. Still, once you're in the zone it works well. ;)

Actually we had a bit of a do with the expression pedal input at first. The range on the sweep wasn't the full range of the filter - set to down sweep it was a low range, up sweep it was a high range, but it never swept the whole range regardless of knob settings.

Mario came up with a simple mod to put more voltage through it which worked a treat and it can now go nuts, but I did have to add another switch and solder in two wires to it. He offered to do it for free and pay the shipping and so on, but I figured I'd rather do it myself than ship the pedal back to Nebraska, because it was such an easy mod and I didn't want the Meatwad off my board for a month. I think he was planning to make this mod standard on future Meatwads FTR.

Thats a blindingly good suggestion Higgie - I'd actually not considered that, cheers! Now how much are these trems...more effects porn to look at! ;)

When I first got the Meatwad and used it on it's own I would get a really loud hum, but when I used it in a pedal chain - so long as it wasn't the last pedal in the chain, it was fine. I contacted Mario who said it was a ground wire problem and he offered to repair it but it's never the last pedal in my effects chain anyway so it isn't really an issue.

Not effects related, but I was wondering how you find the Tapco mixer?

does the job nicely, the tape out part is great for recording, and its useful for use with headphones if your amp doesnt have a headphone out jack (like mine), but you wouldnt want to plug your bass straight into it, active or not you need a preamp. But yeah, very good for the money ;) anything in particular you wanna do with one??

Hi mate! The Valcoder is $139.99 + $20 shipping and duty charges from Tonefactor in the US. That's the place I'd recommend buying from!

I've got one and I absolutely love it. The LED is white and superbright, and it interacts with the knobs, ie, depending on where the depth is set you get a really faint dimming, or complete on/off flashing, and it flashes in time with the rate, so you get a visual indication of your settings just from the LED alone :P
