Yeah the XPND

only thing I don’t love about it is not a lot of space underneath.

I have one and I love it, but I agree. I had to raise it a little bit so that my Cioks SOL could fit perfectly without touching the floor.

Alright not a bass player, but I thought very much in theme with this thread - pesky pedal board power supplies!!

A couple of little changes thanks to @tayste_2000:

Swapped out my 3Leaf Enabler for the Shiftline Olympic MkIIIs on the Nano, powered by a Cioks Sol, running the Olympic and OC2 at 12v:

Swapped out my MXR Studio Compressor for the Diamond Bass Comp Jnr on the Nano+, powered by a Cioks DC5, running the Diamond at 18v:

I really fancy trying the Diamond Bass comp - what you reckon to it?

I have a video to upload of it.

You can definitely hear it working and I don’t have much more feedback than that on, not that you asked me, but this opinion is why Si owns it now 😅

So decision made, I’ve gone for simplicity. My doubling gig has become a full on acoustic gig (with PA support of course) so I’ve decided to go with two boards as the combined board was starting to look like I might be over compensating for something.

This will be the electric bass board and has only what I need to make my beautiful basses sound more beautiful.
The Capo and the Empress are recent purchases but boy are they good/worth the money in my book.

So, following on from my earlier post with the electric bass board, some goodies arrived this morning from Anderson’s to complete the meagre double bass / EUB board. Everything I need and nothing I don’t 😎

I really like it (as you’d expect), it’s way more characterful than the MXR (which is either a good thing or a bad thing for you haha). The MXR is very transparent, which is great of course, but a different result to what I want in this case, which is wanting to thicken things up and add some ‘magic’ while also taming some heavy pick playing.

I didn’t get to try the SGFX version, I had tried this Jnr and liked it, and didn’t want to then buy the SGFX if it didn’t have what I liked about the Jnr. But we’ll see how it goes!

Some obvious tidying up yet

the Vitoos PSU is excellent

The Walrus is very accurate but yet to figure out how to turn its screen off. I don’t need a live tuning reportIMG_1360.thumb.jpeg.150896bf275976dc0a2df931cba159ea.jpeg

Small, but effective.

I've had that mentioned to me many times before. Well actually, only once or twice, and it might actually be just once, now I think about it.

Same here but now that I am older I rarely hear the latter part.

I’ve been being lazy

DCX is uploading now

Nice vid - it’s tough to do compression vids on YouTube as they add so much compression themselves when you upload but you get a sense of what the Diamond is about from this. I’m gonna buy one of these or another Lusithand Alma next time I’m feing

flush and one comes up for a good price. I fancy a DCX Bass too, but I may just buy a Valeton GP-5 for £68 and run the NAM captures from Tone3000 on it 😁

Well I’ve got the DCX for sale.

There will be a lot of this, buying pedals I’ve wanted to try but have no intention of keeping, so the video and sell them on.

It’s been quite fun even if most of the comments are…. Not really my sound but thanks 😂

I’d try the Lusithand Rosa next as I liked the tilt eq of the diamond but don’t really need the compression.

I do love how these top mounted jack pedals look on a board though.

I put this massive board together out of all of the bits I actually use during an average rehearsal. Covers everything I need.

I've got it set up so in A/B mode it swaps between a slightly driven SVT and a very distorted SVT. Then for stomp box mode I've got it loaded with a Darkglass Microtubes capture and a Sansamp Bass Driver capture, and I'll test those two captures out and go with whatever I prefer on the day.

My setup doesn't need to be any more complex than that.
