Bassman Sam
I hope it doesn't sound like a Thunderbird. I want it to have a Dingwall voice, whatever that is.
The DV mod still sounds like a '3X' on a Dingwall that's for sure, but the pickup configuration offers some extra breadth to the sound which I feel is rather exciting! Silvia Bluejay
Looks great except the headstock. Something a bit more tbird-y kinda like they have with the Super P and J models would fit better to my eyes.
I asked Sheldon about the headstock and he replied that it needs to be so small to avoid the dreaded T-bird neck dive. Not a hint of neck dive here... Silvia Bluejay
It looks absolutely fine to me, actually! He just grabbed any old strap and put it on the bass quickly just to show me, he didn't spend time adjusting it for the occasion.
Musicman20
A Thunderbird should be played at knee height.
Silvia Bluejay
So I'm guessing you need to have arms like a chimpanzee...?
Kev
So BD are finally taking preorders for the Canadian built version, in colours including metallic black and candy purple. http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Dingwall_D_Bird.html
