Just received an email from Andertons that it's in stock.

So I've bought it.
Hopefully Saturday delivery (Ive paid for it)

I've been an 'Arry fan since 1981, when Bruce joined the band. Maiden went to Italy to do a few gigs to get Bruce settled in. My brother's band 'The Raff' supported them on a couple of the dates. So I went and bought the first 2 albums. Loved it.

I'm also a West Ham fan.

I don't need another Precision, which I always think is the best reason to buy it.
Pictures when it arrives

The SH bass comes with the 0.50 Rotosound flats right? I can imagine the flats would be very high tension. I can't even get on with the 0.45 roto flats.

It does, we'll see how it goes. I might take it to a Policed gig tomorrow night, see how it sounds during the soundcheck

OK, I'm in!!!!

I have had one on order from Thomann's since 31st January.
Original date for arrival at Thomann's was 31st March.
Now put back to 2nd April, so, bank holidays etc.

In a nutshell, unlikely to actually receive it until probably the 13th April.
Not a happy little 'Arry fan :(

Wouldn't it be a lot easier and cheaper to buy a white Squier P and stick a West Ham badge on it...? :P
I mean, you know... how long is it going to take for THAT novelty to wear off?? *Runs away and hides in back of charity shop*

Is it worth it, considering it's a MIM?

Interesting thought.
I have sold all my US Fenders and my Rick 4004 and ONLY gig my 2 Mex Fenders listed below.
BECAUSE BOTH are fabulous gigging basses.
Your comment is one that has bored the tits off me for years now and really your are just looking for a bit of attention.
Well, ya got it.

I am tempted by one though...

Been an Arry fan ever since I was small!

Edit: Wasn't trying to troll or anything, I was just looking at what was available on the used market and there's stuff like Prestige Ibanez's at that pricepoint.
Also heard some pretty spotty things about some of Fender's quality control, but every company seems to have issues at somepoint.

That's ok if you like Ibanez etc. I love Fender P basses. I have quite a collection already. USA, Japan.

If it's no good, I'll send it back

Yeah, customer support is solid.

Looking forward to hearing some reports on this bass before I purchase one!

I know what you mean. I've sold 2x german warwick, 2x Musicman and 1x ACG. Now I'm only gigging with 1x MIM classic 60 fender jazz and 1x MIM P bass with the neck swapped and SD pickups lol.

The waiting is killing me, not helped by concern over the U profile neck.
Mind, according to the spec on GAK, they have block inlays

I think he means the price, considering his avatar shows him holding a Squier he's probably not being snobbish

Anything but! I love these Squiers! I'd love a proper Fender though.

If reports for this bass are good I'll probably nab one by the end of the year!

They don't have block inlay's do they? The Geddy Lee's might, but I'm sure the Harris bass doesn't have those.
