Well, you're still here mate! So that's a good sign ;)

Don't put pressure on yourself. Nothing worse than trying to write a tune when it feels 'forced'.

well i started to give it a go and it terminally destroyed my computer, so until i rebuild it you wont get nothing off me :(

Thats a shame dude , I hope you get something sorted .

I have got something together for this month , I was hoping for a little added family input but they all refused to attempt a noo yoke accent .
so it is what it is ,

Cheers! You might be right about the vox - but I'm kind of new to this "singing" lark so kept it down a bit. However, it was higher until Soundclooud compression!
Still, it's good enough for sport, as we used to say at Auntie Beeb's.

OK chaps here's my attempt

https://soundcloud.com/robhartley-1/ny-dittywav

I decided against trying to sing in the end and just recorded a guitar line for the vocal melody I intended... I know, I know bit of a cop out but my lyrics just aren't up to scratch for public display yet!

The photo made me think of some kind of US Psychiatry based talk show so I've gone for a bit of cheesy blues. Although listening back to it, it kinds sounds more like a theme tune to a western... ah well never mind, glad to be back in the BC comp comp :D

Here is my entry this month. I used a mastering tool on logic that when transferred to soundcloud etc it sounds compressed and a bit muffled but it sounds better on my Mac. Anyway I don't have time to do any more with it, so fete it is.

It's based losely on my friends experiences on the streets in New York. I'm not sure how much of what he told me was true but it's not the kind of stuff you'd make up. Lol.

Not a brilliant effort this month but I had a lot on and am remodelling my studio space so couldn't find the time to spend on the piece (some dodgy notes in there that I would prefer to have dealt with but it ain't going to happen!!)

Nice! Really reminds me of something, especially the keys...
And what has your "tool" done to Soundcloud? It's full page only, with no navigation, no moving cursor showing where you are in the track or owt?

Miss, he's broken Soundcloud, Miss, Miss...

Yes it reminds me of something as well. I hope it's not one of those situations where you think you've made something original that actually turns out to be a blatant copy of some thing else. The keys are nicked.... It's from a song that's uniquely American but luckily I'm not breaking any rules by using it as inspiration. See if you can work out what it is. 😉

Currently at the gym listening to them all again. There are some really cool entries this month. I completely missed xgsjx's entry so now that I've discovered that one I'm completely thrown again.

Ok so i said i wasn't gonna do this anymore but I have.

I assume the pic is New York, if not ah well. New york evokes jazz, brass and grooves for me so I've knocked something together that i would be listening to in a taxi driving through New York.

Here it is

Hello,

This piece includes a bit of everything..(including the sound of panic when I saw the closing date) plus the kitchen sink, which you can hear towards the end of the track. Unfortunately Kenny G. wasn't available to record the obligitory sax solo (ugh), however his half brother Ali was.

Production quality is not stellar, I was attempting a less "bassy" mix for this one...

I realised about a week ago that mine wasn't going to make it, so maybe I'll upload three minutes of the sound of (moderately) calm acceptance.

Looking forward to hearing all of these: as usually, I wait until the voting opens and then go on a listening binge - hic!

Mines currently at 5:20, will I be facing the firing squad if I don't trim it down?

Skinned alive and rolled around the inside of an empty packet of salt and vinegar crisps.

Other than that, don't worry about it ;)
