It does look good but i think i prefer the Washburn Star Bass from 2003 which was more in keeping with the 1975 Larry Pless made original.

I think the Washburn was limited to 100 and retailed at £1999 though. I wonder what Warwick class as 'affordable'?

That's...definitely something! Think I saw a very brief video with Andy Irvine playing this and it sounded pretty good. Definitely couldn't get past the shape though.

It ought to sound decent - it's essentially a standard Warwick H S bass with a non-standard body shape.

The shape is pretty much the best thing about it IMO.

Give it a year and Thomann will be selling them for less than half the original asking price. They currently have the MiK version of the Adam Clayton Reverso at 2/3s off,

I told a fellow Bass player in a Band at the Pizza Express in Dean Street I had a Warwick Star Bass. He asked me if I was into Bootsy Collins......

I reckon you'd be the only person on Basschat who would look cool as f*** onstage playing one of these :D

I'd certainly consider getting one if Warwick decided to make a 5-string version.
