Afternoon all.

Im looking the downsize my rig yet keep the huge tone. I run a line 6 lowdown into a hatke 4x10 at the moment.

What are everyones thoughts on 2x12s, 1x15s etc.

Also, lightweight heads as the line 6, although great tone is a beast on the old lbs.

Thanks.
Ben

Get a Class D lightweight Head - there are lots to choose from, all with different character (mainly down to the Pre-amp) My personal favourite at the moment is the Carvin BX series - the BX500 is amazing value, weighs about the same as a car stereo and is seriously loud with a decent cab. The tone you're after may differ though...

There are many lightweight cabs on the market. A GOOD 2x12 will be comparable with your 4x10 in terms of the sound/volume. I use a Barefaced, but there are many others around. Barefaced stuff is very very good, they have higher spec drivers than most, but it is not the cheapest cab around, so depends on your budget. There's a few deals knocking around on lightweight 2x12 cabinets. Especially end of line stuff, or even secondhand (have a look on here).

As others have said, there's lots of choice
Not tried a barefaced cab,
I use Markbass gear, and I think it's awesome :)
It's also relatively lightweight

Phil Jones also do some really small amps & cabs,
which although they're tiny, pack a real punch

Definitely keep your eye on the secondhand section on here
Enjoy the forum :)

I tried a mibass 12 inch with my streamliner. It seemed well made but didn't really sing with that head like others I tried. Ended up going fir a matching genz focus cab. Depending on the head you end up with I would certainly consider the mibass cab. Guitarguitar had them in stock. How about one or the TKS cabs that some peeps are raving about on here. Maybe you could get a try out somwwhere.
