They don't do a Korean "Tribute" model. Not too easy to find, and not very cheap when you do. Cass Lewis sometimes used them in [i]Skunk Anansie [/i]if you want to hear what can be got from them... One's a honeyburst semi-hollow and the other's a natural. Kier (Dub_junkie) has one too (I got my semi-hollow off him) and I believe his is sparkly gold too.....lucky so-and-so! Fabulous basses. To be honest, there's not as much between the solid and semi-hollow weight wise or tonally. The semi-hollow is only erm semi-hollow in one a smallish cavity on the top of the body. The semi- seems to have a bigger bottom end and tonally blooms a little more than the solid which has a more focused mid range and feels and sounds a bit like a precision on steroids. odub Posted June 8, 2008 Share Posted June 8, 2008 I find neck dive a bit on mine, or rather, the bass likes to sit parallel to the ground. I thick strap mostly sorts it out mind, and there's a third party add on thing that someone sells that repositions the neck strap button behind the plate. Still great basses though. I couldn't cope with the neck dive though, it really bugged me. Might not be so bad worn lower though, but I prefer to wear my basses fairly high. I'd much prefer a pan pot or 2x Volume controls to eke some more subtle tonal variations out of it. The tones available are all good, but all very "meaty". Bet they're good "in the mix" though. For those who don't realise, the ASAT has exactly the same electronics and pickups as the L2000, so it's just the body shape that is different. More ASAT porn Rare 5 stringer: I'm sure I saw the bass player with Cat Stevens playing a sparkly ASAT 5er when he did that BBC session a little while ago. Wish I'd never asked now Thing is, I've never even thought the Tele body looked any good 'till I saw these.
