And some high-res ones from the previous owner:

I bought this second-hand from a guy in the States last year for £1800. That in itself is a bargain as to have one of these built to these specs nowadays would probably cost a little under £3000. There are a few little nicks and scratches here and there, but nearly all of them are on the back of the bass and so not visible whilst playing.

It's the best looking and best sounding bass I've played and deciding to put this up for sale has been a real heartache. Reason for sale? Simple honest truth? I need a bass that can handle drop-Z tunings, and only a 37" scale will do ;) The music I use this for (basically rock and metal) doesn't really do the natural 'woody' tones of this magnificent instrument justice and I'd rather it went to a player who appreciated its beauty and versatility.

Pickup preferred but able to ship in flight-case.

UPDATE: No longer seeking trade. Cash only.

Well, for me every bass is a compromise. With this bass you have the most incredible tone and versatility (as you clearly know!), but there's just one thing it can't quite do which I need it to do, and that's to produce a clear and tight sound on the bottom string when tuned down half a mile. Obviously it wasn't built for that purpose....

I've decided to use this on the album after all. It just sounds too good to let all that tone go undocumented. Sorry guys! :)

Definitely don't be sorry - I'm obviously a big Sei bass fan (and player!) - but I can only add that they record so well (and you can get pretty much any tone you want and tweak it in the mix anyway...) they really do play/sound/feel as good as they look - and boy oh boy - that is one sexy bass you have there - the buckeye is really stunning too.

Keep hold of it - I think you will regret selling it - especially considering the price you paid for it - a second 'metal' bass might be a good complimentary instrument for you? Love the band too - hope all goes well for you and the guys.

I hear you on that mate and understand totally. You have to do what is right for you in the end, sounds obvious but not always easy. As far as me making a good doppleganger, I have enough on my plate with The Reasoning bud ha ha ha ha ha ha. I did get a mail from someone saying I should go for it and my reply was "I've sold my Dingwall basses, I've grown a beard and drunk more beer than Tom so, I wouldn't get a look in." They didn't understand lol ;)

Good luck with the sale and good luck with everything you do musically. Are you going back to playing guitar and sticking with To-Mera? If you're ever down this way, drop me a line, it would be good to hook up for a beer and a chat. Take care :)

Ah well, maybe I should grow my beard back ;)

In actual fact I'm working on setting up something completely new. Just had an irresistible urge to take a break from band life and plough my own furrow for a bit. I guess you'd call it a solo project, but I hope it will turn into a real band at some point.

All the best and good luck with The Reasoning. If I make it to Cardiff anytime soon, I shall be sure to give you a holler!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha maybe you should and if I need a break from TR, you can step in. A cunning plan developing here.

Your plans sound intriguing and please keep me, as well as everyone else, posted. Looking forward to hearing / seeing it. Good luck again and thanks for the kind words too. It would definitely be nice to meet up and chat properly. I tried to catch you after your show at Celebr8.2 but it just didn't happen. Anyway, I've hijacked your thread enough - take it easy ;)
