No Notifications...

To whom it may concern - Mods/Admin??

Although my account settings have not changed, I have not received any notifications at all in the last week, despite the threads themselves being updated. I had a few days of inactivity, could it be related to that, or might it be something else?

Cheers

Joe

Thanks bluejay but I do not receive notifications via email anyway so no problem there! :) I'm referring to the notification list on my profile itself, but oddly I did receive a notification for this reply... I guess it must just be because I had a few days of silence

I have just noticed a complete lack of notifications too.

I checked a couple of threads I've been subscribed to for ages (post your pictures... and Precisions) only to find that I'm no longer following them. When I click on "follow topic" it gives me the usual options, but after I've ticked one they still don't appear in my list of topics I'm following in my "contents" section.

I've had this too. It's kicked me out a couple of threads and I can't re-follow ie Silddx 'I don't know..' thread and Matamp Porn.

Just a request... If anyone notices or suspects a pattern related to not getting notifications can they put the theory here.

Type of thing to keep an eye on :
Number of subscribed people
Number of posts
Period thread has been running

Here you go. I'm sure Nige's http://basschat.co.uk/topic/174557-i-dont-know-how-i-feel-at-the-moment/page__st__400 had stacks of followers, now it's at zero, plus when you try to subscribe it stays at zero.

Wrong way I guess.
Because:
I didn't follow any threads and didn't enable any notifications about threads.
The only notification I enabled was to get an email when recieving a PM.

Last PM with notification: 08 September 2011
Next/first PM without notification: 24 November 2011
No notifications since then.

Today I posted in this thread and it's still not been included on my "follow" list. In fact, there are only seven members listed as following it, yet there are 170 pages of posts, so something is clearly still not working.

You have to actually click on the "Follow this topic" button in order to follow a thread. I post in the thread you linked to all the time, but I don't follow it and I would suspect that most of the regular posters there are the same.

If you click on the number of followers next to the button you can see who they are. Your username is not one of them.

Thats not right IMO. You can click follow this thread if you dont want to post in it but ive never done that and i get to follow all the threads i post in. I think there is a setting in the User area that lets you automatically follow any thread if you post in.

Well I'm thankful that it appears to off by default...

My settings should mean that any thread I post in is automatically added to my "follow" list, but it's not happening.

I've also clicked the "follow topic" button for the gigs thread and selected "immediate notification", but that doesn't work. As soon as I return to the thread the "follow topic" button reverts to the same setting (i.e. NOT "unfollow topic").
