Bass rigs-the bigger the better in my experience.

The daftest (really wished I had the photo!) was with the 600SMX in Bi-amp mode.

On the low side..

1 x Martin Audio 1x18" sub
1x Trace 1153 1x15"

And the high..

1 x Trace 1048H 4x10"
1 x Trace 2103H 2x10"

That was truly monsterous and entirely ridiculous!

I have 2 1x12" Bergantino cabs and I take one cab to rehearsals and small venues and it sounds good enough for me : ) Every time I life the things into my landy I'm glad I don't have anything even bigger - they're heavy enough as it is. If they were heavier I'd probably find an excuse and not leave home ever! :)

They could have put the ports at the bottom so more folk get the air. :D

The place we played last night, we had to go in the back fire escape. That was tricky with a 410. Coming out at the end of the gig, we discovered there were no outside lights. Trying to get an 810 down those would have ended really badly.

It's a mix of:

Did anyone see the Mythbusters 'Subwoofer in a car' episode? Wasn't it 162 dB at 12Hz or such similar? Devastating! :D

I'd love to try the John Chambers 1000w valve amp too!

That the one where they put the 'speaker' on a drive shaft from the engine? Exceeded xlim and destructed. Bet BFM would rag on their db measurement.

Like 'em or lump 'em they're clever guys, check their hostories..

Personally I think they're great but would love them to revisit that 'myth' with a better built drive unit that doesn't exceed its xmech or shake itself to bits..

And considering it is duration of sound that does damage.

I think he'd have buy an industrial fan to cool it and a truck to move this one? Not sure its a 'practical' proposition..

It is one of the coolest things i've seen in a good long while.. B)
