I need a new gig bag for my db, I don't want something that's going to fall apart after 1 year and I don't really want to spend hundreds of pounds. Anyone got any suggestions? sarah thomas Posted March 30, 2012 Share Posted March 30, 2012 I don't know the make of my gig bag (came with the bass) but what I like is that it has loads of handles and plenty of pockets - at the back for sheet music and leads and at the front for bow or music stand are the ones I use most and a back strap. Rucksack type straps would be an improvement. Wheels are fine for college foyers but get wrecked on pavements. Good solid reinforced stitching is a must. TheG Posted March 31, 2012 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Well spotted Geoff! That is very interesting isn't it! I've had a Tom and Will for around 11 months. So far it seems to be holding up. Got a 40% discount on the second and the newer zips are much more robust! So far so good! Good prompt response fron their customer services. My zip pull on the rear pocket has died. Also one of the zips for the small pocket. The main one is still good and I'm pretty happy with it. My Gedo bass came with a 'Tim Hendson' branded case, which has been fine, though some of the clips on the shoulder carrying straps have now bent a bit, making them rather insecure. It looks like they have switched to their own brand cases, with the rucksack-type shoulder carrting straps stitched on, and wheels added on some cases - so probably an improvement.
