Great to see you all, sorry I couldn't stay longer. Here are some quick snaps! Feel free to say who you are because I forgot everyone's name, pretty much

Excellent photoset Ped. (I fear mine won't look as good. Also, for some reason I couldn't get the video function to work on mine - d'oh! :sorry: )

Good of you to make the time to pop along.

What a great bunch. Sometimes you get days when things just click into place, and for me today was just such a day (apart from the constant whining about the 'noise' from the venue staff - we're bass players guys; what were you expecting! ). It was a pleasure to spend the day with such a terrific group of people (despite looking a bit miserable in the photos - sorry Steve).

There should be a link with http://blahblah (without the spaces) written around the link. Copy and paste that here and voila.

I had a great time and thanks for organising the day. It's bashes like this that make it such a friendly and welcoming community.

Cheers
ped

P.s Joshua I'll sort the full image file for you tomorrow no probs

I would love to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with organising this great event .. it was fantastic

I have never seen so many lefty players and lefty basses in the same room at the same time !!!! The vibe was brilliant and I felt that by the time I left to go back to the paradise isle that I had known everyone for years.

I can't remember everyones names so I would be grateful if you could post a list of everyone who attended ?

Keep flying the flag for the lefties !!!

once again thank you

Andy

Cheers for the advice Ped.

So then:

Ped clearly has a gift for photographing people. I tried to focus more on the instruments (but with one or two interesting people - based results as well).

Again (and with sincere apologies), I've forgotten many names (but at nearly 59 at least I have some sort of excuse  ), so speak up if you want a copy of anything:-

First up, a shot of my co-organiser sporting a tasty Overwater prototype Sinistra:

Vintage bass porn part 1

Vintage bass porn part 2

A pair of hen's teeth and a headless Sei

A portrait of disenchanted yoof - and a collection of Roscoe/Nordy porn

A vision of loveliness - oh, and some bloke (sorry Graham! :) )

Just... :o

"Mum, can I have one of these for my next birthday please..."

My personal favourite - summed up the whole day for me, this one.

There you go. I did do a few more, and if anybody wants to see the full set, it's here:

Enjoy! :)

Great pics. SUCH a hard room to take photos in... LOADS of light coming in from the windows but really dark inside!
Thanks. I used to do a lot of photography at one time, but these days I can't justify the expense of a DSLR so I get by with something that at least does the basics reasonably well (a Coolpix L100).

Great people and amazing basses = pretty darn good day !

I would like to say thanks to all that came along yesterday, to get so many of you lefties together was quite a task. Many thanks to Andy Kerr and lovely long suffering wife for all their hard work. Thanks to Dave ( deezer )and his amazing portion of his bass collection.

Some great pics there, could anyone that had taken pics email me them please? [email protected]

Not so much thanks to Andy ( dread ) for letting me play his 7 string ACG. I was on the ACG web site for far too long last night contemplating getting one commissioned!!!!!!!

You may well see some of my basses for sale soon to pay for it! bloody GAS!

Was a great day, nice to meet some fantastic guys and see such a collection of basses that were all the right way round for once!
Easily worth the 300 mile round trip.
Thanks to Andy Kerr and Patch for all their hard work putting the day together.

I've sent you some iPhone snaps Patrick, but they're not to the standard of Ped's!

Thanks, BTW, to you and Andy for organising the bash, which was a joy to attend. I will bring even more basses next year, I'm sure.

Phil

Bit late, but...

A big thank you to Patch and Andy and his wife, for organising such a genial get together. Being surrounded by so many desirable lefty basses was an experience only matched by meeting such a great bunch of people. I'd Definitely do it again if the chance arises!

Ok, just to put a name to a face - amongst Ped's pictures, I'm the bloke with the cap admiring Malcom's red frankenP (maybe the most comfortable bass I ever played).
