If it's a piece of kit you really like then might as well get some more life out of it. Alternatively sell it to me on the cheap so i can get it repaired at work! [/quote] The straps are wearing out where they join onto the bag. For me to be happy with the repair it would need new straps attaching which means opening up the seams on the bag where they attach and re-sowing. And of course there's no guarantee that it won't happen again. When I find a suitable replacement you're welcome to have the Ritter bag for the cost of postage and packing. When I find a suitable replacement you're welcome to have the Ritter bag for the cost of postage and packing.[/quote] The same thing happened with my acoustic bass bag when i was at Uni, my mum got it repaired at a local place (i now think it was Bacsew who make amp covers) and they attached the straps to the bag itself and sewed another piece of matching material over it. Looks different but you'd never know it covered a repair and has held steady for 10 years now, if anything it's more sturdy than ever. The company i work for manufacture special needs harnesses and belts so i'm now in a pretty good position if my gigbags ever fail! Very generous offer RE the Ritter btw, thanks bud! Surely lighter is going to be more comfortable to wear?[/quote] Yeah leather's pretty heavy, but if the straps sit right it's not an issue, before I got my leather Warwick bag, I had a premium Warwick rockbag and it got uncomforatble after a while as the straps were a bit crap, but the new ones are fantastic, and there's also zip compartments where you can take them off and store them away. One thing I have realised is that my ash Corvette in the leather bag is heavier than the bubinga Corvette in a Hiscox! It also fits my 6'er which has a pretty long Jim Cairnes neck and headstock, but I'll put a tape measure on it for you Either way, I'd highly recommend a leather gig bag over anything else, as you're basically buying a bag for life. A good way to look at it is look at two idential cars of the same age and mileage, but one with cloth interior, the other with leather. My P-bass is a snug fit - longer basses will be a trouble to get in. Only regret is not buying it from Thomann and saving myself 20 quid - saw a post saying bassdirect had them on special offer for £95 and didn't browse.
