1. I've brought a markbass classic 104 so these are up for sale, I may still keep one as they are honestly the best cabs I've owned and far superior to any past barefaced cabs and I've owned and heard most of them. Barefaced Super Compact. Both black steel grill. Both in great condition, one is serial number 1! The older of the two has been used a lot more but is in the same condition I brought it in, only difference is the finish is a little smoother on the old one. Selling as I've gone for a more vintage and coloured cab sound for recording purposes. £400 each. £750 for both. Would prefer collection as I don't have materials to ship. 2.
I'm sorry Chris, normally your views are well worth listening to but this makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE AT ALL!!! If there is no point to accurate (aka transparent) amplification and loudspeakers then why do so many bassists DI in the studio and through PA systems? You make music with your instrument. If the tone coming from the instrument is exactly what you want, then why would you change it? If the tone coming from the instrument isn't what you want then you can use FX/amps/speakers to change the tone (add colouration) to get the sound you want.
I can't recall one gig I've played where the bass was a Mic'd cab over the dry as hell DI. If it was the other way around then I probably wouldn't have gone through so many cabs. Sure I could turn up with my own mic and what not and be a stuck up snob about it but I'm not about that. I already turn up with my own DI and that's anal enough. Still would like to have that sealed coloured sound but no point when everyone else hears the dryest signal ever.

4. Brought it and never use it, like ever. No idea on price so £40 gets it including postage. Or a near offer. PayPal gift preferred.
5. Quick price drop and bump already brought something to replace it so cash sale wanted
6. As above really. Recently purchased and selling on as it doesn't quite do what I want it to. Sounds awesome none the less. £125 includes mainland postage. PayPal gift or bank transfer. Picture added for pictures sake.
7. I think you might have added the wrong video
8. We practice together when we have new material and more often when shows are coming up and generally try and gig once a month.
9. Pretty much. Since picking up bass that's all I'm interested in listening too, I will forgive anything in a song these days if I like the bass, weather it's what is played or how the bass sounds.
10.
The prototype Barefaced guitar cab is sitting here, I just need to finish off the electronics and fine tune a few other details...
Alex email me yesterday, I want to know everything.
11. I realise this could have gone in the guitar section but since it covers a bass amp and I'd get more response here that's why it's here. I realise it's fully possible and useable to use as a guitar cab but how exactly should I go about this? I currently have access to a few guitars, no guitar amp though and some effects(mainly OD and distortions) I'd want to get an as authentic tone as possible using the cab so either modelling or a guitar amp into it with some kind of cab sim? Anyone else used and gigged a barefaced can for guitar work? My guitarist is insanely jealous that my behemoth sound comes from a Polly pocket weighted rig.
12. Lol I've not been kidnapped yet, just been incredibly busy with my own band haha. My spiritual advisor asks if anyone has even checked out the band's music?
13. Does it have to be a fender? My vote goes to the sandberg VSP that's on the market place.
14. Right haven't got time to read all the responses but here is his next email he sent me. This guy is bat sh*t cray cray, but I believe genuine. I might try learning the songs but I don't have a passport. His reply!Cool man, ya lot of info there that I sent, but I wanted to give as much details as possible in order for you to make a decision.. if you go to http://www.leavingeden.com/ on the front page there is a "play music" Soundcloud link scrolling down just beneath the first pics you see.1/4 way down. Please shoot a vid of you playing one or 2 of our songs, that's all I need. Please let me see that and next step will be to maybe to a facetime conversation or skype so we can discuss getting you here. as I said, we will pay travel so we have to go over logistics. sound good? any questions? peace!!!
15. I emailed back asking what I should do on my end. Awaiting a reply. Evidence suggests he's a real guy asking for real bassist but odd as hell he'd email me from an ad that's older than most of my gear. His punctuation is understandable since it was written on an iPhone. If it's a scam it's a long winded one, if it's real, some people clearly operate on another plane of existence than most folk.
16. My vote is for the dimarzio. Best pickup I've found and easy to get an even output across strings since the pole pieces are adjustable. Have one in my jaguar and have the J type versions in my Jazz.
17.
"Spiritual advisor"??
It's definitely more of a thing in the states, but agreed a load of crap.
18. So I got an email from from some guy in the states asking I wanted to be in there band all expenses paid for. Now I'm not one to usually bite at stuff but I checked out his bands website and they are a real band so I replied asking for more details. He then sent me this :: Hi Stephen. Good to see you. We went to Manhattan New York City. We met with four different record label presidents. They told us we needed to lose our bass player because of his image. I will bass player had three months to lose the weight and he actually gained weight. So he understood the drill. We then went to Chicago to record our next album. We are working with an A&R guy works for all of the labels. The record labels are Century media records, another century records, napalm records, nuclear blast records and The gentleman who made Nickleback from Roadrunner records, which has now been absorbed, he has joined century media. We also work exclusively with The vice President of live nation New England Bob Duteau and his boss Don law. Don law is the man that is responsible for the rock 'n roll seen as it is today since the 60s. Any band that came out of Boston since the 60s from Godsmack to Aerosmith to J guiles to stained all went through Don law. We work with the biggest booking agencies in the world such as the agency group, TKO. As you can see we've played with some of the biggest bands in the world all through live nation which is the biggest entertainment company in the world. We also have an investor. So this is a very unique opportunity and the timing is right. I cannot promise you that you will be a rockstar however we are not religious but spiritual. I see what I call my spiritual advisor and have been seeing her for years and everything she has told me he has come true. For instance before I ever even left New England I've never been anywhere else and I have a piece of paper that she wrote down that we would be going to California Chicago New York Canada Florida Europe and wouldn't you know we went to everyone of those places. She told me that we were to play a huge benefit concert that only the elite get on and the only way to get on this concert was to go to this particular woman she even told me when. Sure enough it happened and we played the rise above festival with Seether hell yeah avenged sevenfold and yes the only way on that stage was through see there's manager which was a female. The list goes on as to all the things that she has told me which have come true and the rest of the story what she says is we will not only when the Grammys but sweep the Grammys best new band best new album Best new song and since then I have become a voting member of the Grammys. If you came here you would be paid for shows live for free eat for free have transportation so you would not have any bills. Right now the pay is US$100 per show. Some shows we don't get paid but they're very high-profile concerts but most shows are paid. Ironically my spiritual advisor told me last week that she sees somebody from Europe being the bass player and ironically I came across a site when searching for bass players which was all European bass players I have videos of all of my sessions with my spiritual advisor so really it will be a movie because it's real. And I have the proof. Once this album is done the A&R person will walk it in to the labels and get the best deal he can then it will be smooth sailing. i'm not sure about the length of time your visa it will allow you to stay in the US that something you would have to check out yourself. But we will pay for your travel here. There are a lot of variables it just depends on whether or not you'd like to take the bull by the horns. To me you have nothing to lose and everything to gain and we are very down-to-earth people not snobs you don't look down on anybody. This week for instance we have a concert with the singer from ratt, then BuckCherry, done with Tantric. We are playing motorcycle week in Laconia New Hampshire where it's the largest bike week in the world and 90 years. We have direct support for all the national bands that are coming in. We have toward USA Canada and Europe and Eve our singer is simply Universal and everyone male female child grandmother all love her. I hope this helps and please call me if you're interested at 603-765-8500. Please keep in mind that time is of the essence and you were the only bass player that I contacted from that site. There was something about you that was intriguing. Peace and have a great day. Sent from my iPhone Lots of things put me off but I want to hear some other people's opinions.
19.
Generally it's a bad idea.
Saying that I've played at rehearsals with my super compact raised onto an 8x10 and found it hadn't made a blind bit of difference, except having it at a lower volume. I still bumped the low EQ up a bit, but when it was on the floor I would turn it up more. Although I have two now and its so huge A sound.
20. Never in my life have a seen a maple board and matching headstock ri62 Good luck with the sale
