1. Absolute top bloke, friendly, prompt and patient. I wouldn't hesitate for a second when buying from or selling to Nik, and neither should you (if you're on here looking for reassurance)! Nice one Nik!
2. Articulate!! Used to play that at uni when we were having a drink. Great bass by the way
3. Gorgeous, always wanted one of those. Never used those kind of strings before though, they're called taperwound aren't they? What's the point of that then? Looks like they might snap, but I'm guessing seen as they're on that F Bass they must be good, are they some advantages to them? G
4. HAHA! yeah, it does seem bizarre at first, but when the rest looks so fantastic I guess it just kind of falls into place eventually.
5. Firstly- I'm not entirely sure, I think it might be something to do with leveling the frets? Secondly- I'm afraid I'd prefer not to send it too far away, but we may be able to work something out if the current interest dies out Oh and your English isn't that bad, I've noticed many English people who type worse than you!
Sorry, can I ask what is a "fret stoned"? Sure it will be something that I know but my english is awful. A great bass, just thinking if I can afford it in the chance you don't mind send it to my country.
6. Am I missing something here? I don't know that much about Wals but it seems like for this price it should be jumped on by the entire forum.
7. Yeah. Well, I was, got my 1st on Wednesday What's your MA in (I was doing history)?
8. EDIT: Gone now, sorry to those who missed out. EDIT: Cheers to Aigto- yes it's a 60th Anni model with the little metal stamp on the back of the headstock. That means it's a 2006. Cheers! Alright guys, It's a bit annoying to have to do this but I've reached the end of Uni, I own 5 basses and I have very little money- it's pretty clear I've got to streamline a bit. While at Uni, I've experimented with various basses in an effort to get some experience and work out what I liked most. This USA Fender J I bought a couple of years back around Christmas, got it from gumtree but I think it was up on here from PauBass? As far as I remember anyway. It was basically new, and had been 'fret-stoned' (sounds fun) so it was in good sparkly nick. Since then I used it as my main recording bass, I could never really get a bad tone out of it- loved it. Gigged it a two or three of times too, so its picked up a few small scuff/scratches and a bit of buckle rash on the back. I always looked after it well however, there's nothing that goes through to the wood, and as you'll see I didn't even do the requisite headstock smashing that many choose to christen their basses with. So I'm offering it up now for £475 because since then I stopped playing live and ended up getting a 5 string which I'm enjoying at the moment. I figured I could sell this and it'd be fairly easy to replace if I ever suddenly decided I'd made the wrong choice. Details.... Well Black in colour, black in scratchplate and rosewood fretboard as you can see in the pics. It's a USA Fender Jazz Bass (4 string) It's got a (a/an?) S1 Switch (I don't know the exact year) Alder Body Fret Stoned (at some point)!!??? Condition-wise as I said, a few scratches, on the body and scratch plate, worst on the back, nothing through to the wood. Oh and comes with muchos candy, truss rod adjuster, good condition case, tags, warrantee card blah blah blah It's got a good neck, and it sounds good. It costs £475. You can collect it from Lancaster or Middlesbrough or we can arrange something if you live on the edge. Bargain Sorry for the truly horrific photography, let me know if you want more pictures or anything like that. Cheers Graeme
9. Now I've moved out of uni I'm sorting my shiz out so last chance before I send this to hell, if you're interested then give me a shout and we can sort something out. As new, cheap as you like, great keyboard. £180 O.N.O. G Hi guys, Don't know if it's of interest to anyone but I thought I'd offer it here first instead of the old bay! It's an 'as new' condition Novation Remote 37Sl, with automap 3 on it and all that business. They go for about £300 new, going rate second hand seems to be just over £200 so straight £200 and it's yours. It is, of course, boxed etc., basically just like if you bought it from a shop, except cheaper I'm in Lancaster, but can also be in the Teesside area too, pickup is encouraged but I'll parcelforce it if you want. I can take photo's if you want, haven't put any up yet because it seems for niche non-bass stuff like this people usually request them if they want them. Rest assured I'm trustworthy, I'm one of the quiet ones but I've bought two basses from here in the past and Jamie and Jo can vouch for that. Selling because I've used it about 3 times, haha, typical. G
10. Nice, haven't seen one of these up for sale on here before. No-one can ever be arsed with sound samples, but if you do have any recordings I'd love to hear them. I also feel like I should apologise for the abuse you got, it's embarrassing to read! Needles to say you're more than welcome
11. Haha to someone not acquainted with double basses the size of that just looks absolutely ridiculous! I did try to play one once but it was like wrestling with Rick Waller. They do sound phenomenal of course, this one especially so no doubt.
12. Haha, well it looks like you had nothing to worry about there Jo!

14. Yeah good luck with the sale mate, Sterlings are brilliant- the necks are spot on.
15. Love this one the colour in particular!! good luck! I'd love it if I had the money!
16. What the hell is that!? Do you play it upright? Looks exciting anyway. G EDIT: just to clarify, I wasn't trying to be mean there
17. I have to admit to me it's quite frustrating following along with Jamiroquai records. Having been in the studio playing around with various production tools for quite a while now I find I can pick out some of the studio tweaks imposed on the bass. In particular the use of gating and high quality Eq's make a such difference to the phrasing and the tone of the bass that some songs are near impossible to reproduce satisfyingly with just a bass and an amp. Saying that, practise does, of course, make perfect. It just seems to me studio makes perfect-er. EDIT - didn't realise this thread was ages old!
