1. ACS Live systen on the cheap! What you have is half way towards a full inear mix with ambient sounds mixed in. Now you have the ambient mix sorted, you'll be hankering to get the rest of it down.
2.
. . . . and then there's me, trying to sound like Duck Dunn with the latest and best gear available.
You're missing the pipe.
3.
A cheap nasty bass didn't seem to hold Macca back did it? Possibly because he's a musician rather than a gear head
Paul McCartney - His guitars aren't too shabby though... tours with a LH 1960 Les Paul burst, owns a 1957 Gold top, early 50s LH Strat. Elvis' bass players upright. I think that when you have the amount of money that Macca has and you can afford it all anyway... gear is of little importance. You could argue that a lot of the stuff that made him famous and sold the records was the techniques and equipment in the studio... so whilst it may be fair to say he's not a gear head... he has certainly used a lot of gear throughout his career.
4. I think we have all got it wrong. That amp is strap mountable - minimises the signal loss from bass to amp. Then there's a long trailing cable going across stage to the speaker cab... and of course, the one that goes to plug socket. It's groundbreaking stuff. Seriously though... If the Elf was cheap enough, I'd consider getting one for the home or little acoustic get togethers... maybe this is the taster before the big guns come out. If you consider this as a starting point, going up against the likes of say, something like the D200... with the vision on going onto something more akin to the GB Shuttles... then maybe they are onto something.
5. New toys - Glorified headphone amp right?
6. Not stylish... but in keeping with the look of the last batch of Trace Elliot I guess. They're probably dipping their toes in - no point in a massive rebrand, update in look and feel if there's less than a luke warm reception! I'm with you on the amp - I must admit, I had a quick snoop around aliexpress.
7. I can see the acoustic pre being popular though...
8. So what did I do special to get the 50% off email?
9.
Is it any good for boogie or possibly a little bit of woogie?
Only the heavier European kind.
10. £7.50 in the UK will get them to you. All new.
11.
Unless it was sh*te to start with...
It depends which famous rock star or whatever uses it regardless and then makes it desirable.
12. Who knows - but it's going to have to be pretty special compared to their last offerings...
13.
Did you know he's selling his '75 Precision?
long since sold.
14. If you hold onto that gear for long enough, it will become vintage and highly sought after.
15. It's adjustable 82-95cm hole to hole if that helps. I have no idea what size it is.
16. The good old, comfortable, black neoprene Comfort Strapp... I have one one for sale! Good condition. EDIT: Its size small and here are some pics. (Click to make bigger) PS I'll be keeping the strapp locks unless you would like to buy those for an extra say, 3 quid? 17. Warble always produced the goods for me. But I will say, promo is king. Rightly or wrongly, it's less about how good the band is, more how good the promo is.
18. adjustable to 93-103cm -ish in length (hole to hole)
19. Like this one http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/EBS-Exclusive-Leather-Strap/P4I Mines used and I would say is in a good usable condition. £17 as been stuck in a box for years and if I was going to use it again, I would have done by now! £23 if you want the Schaller strap lock ends (the hooks, not the bits that fit to the guitar) left on it!
20. In good condition - was professional shortened at local seamstress so you can get it up to Mark King height.
21. Unused. One was used to replace a broken strap lock, this remains unused. I no longer have the bass in question, so this is up for grabs. Complete unit - one bit for the strap, one bit for the instrument.
