1. If I had the cash I'd have this..lovely looking bass. Everyone needs some orange in their life. Try and sell it to Jeff Ament, his band Randm do everything in orange.....good luck
2. Wow! You must have very strong fingers! How do you get taps to sound so authoritative?
3. Oh, and another £100 off if you buy two...that brings it down to £300.
4. Exactly....right now I am enthused to go out on my bike. Better go before my enthusiasm wains.
5.
I'd say sub £250, although with the exchange rates as they are the 414's equivalent is a lot more today. I certainly wouldn't class my Stingray as a budget instrument nor the Ric
My budget bass is my GnL L2000 tribute. Would have loved an American one but is it really worth the extra few hundred notes for the same guitar with nicer wood and some components?
6. How about 2 of the genz Benz focus 112 from bass direct. 200 notes each at the moment.
7. Thanks for the feedback. Having fun writing as been a long time, have a new amp, playing with a decent drummer for the first time...just excited! You''re probably right about holding back unfinished tunes but I just can't control myself:_)
8. Hello. We keep an "official" soundcloud page, but also one we dump ideas on and rehearsal recordings. find it very useful myself. Please check some songs out and let us know what you think. This is all work in progress, recorded with a Boss Micro BR so sound quality isn't super great but gets the job done. Here's a link: https://soundcloud.com/guitarmaggedon/last-of-the-great-plate Thanks, g PS: It's RAWK
9.
This pretty much sums up my experience with the Streamliner
Good to hear. There must be a few people out there who have maybe tried this head with the wrong cab. I had mush when I used the wrong cab, turned to gold with the right one. Anyway, this is a link to my bands soundcloud page for work in progress. We upload recordings from rehearsal so we can work on things....this is a song called Last of the Great Plate Cleaners (written by singer/guitarist). 10. I have recently bought a streamliner and love it. Would say it cuts through perfectly well and no boom, if you cut the bass eq. Just a twiddle of the knob. I would say it has come through as warm and punchy, especially with my focus cab. It is super versatile too. Thursday I had a clean but warm sound. The previous week I had a driven warm sound. Easy to eq this beasty.
11. For the price at the moment, surely these can't be beaten. The GK neo line is close but the 210 can't be found. If I had spare cash I would go fir the 15 too, but can't justify it at the moment. The handles on the cab are great too...much better than the strap on my old Ampeg combo. Can not wait til next rehearsal...and for my wife to find my new cab hiding under the stairs!
12. Just back. That was sensational. We are working on some really catchy rock tunes at the moment. The cab rocks too. Cut through, honestly, about 2,000,000 gazillion times better than through the crappy behringer 810 o used last time. It was articulate, punchy, warm, blah blah blah. No lost bass tones, no lost mids and the trebs were singing. Played around with the tweet control and loved both sounds. Never turned it off. Settings on my head were pre gain 11, pre vol 2, bass 9:30, mid 1, treb 12. Mid sel 600. Loved it. Sounds like an expensive amp. And really, for a hobbyist bass player in an unsigned band it is, but I love it. Smiled all the way home...even when I was aquaplaning! Mafia can leave me alone.
13. Assuming the courier doesn't get swept away in a flash flood today, my genz Benz focus 210 should get here today to accompany my streamliner head. Canny wait.
14. Have recently bought a streamliner and live it to bits. It can do a good clean sound too so wouldn't let the thought of permanent tube drive put you off. Just turn gain down and volume up on the preamp and it's all good. Though I have my gain at 12ish most of the time.
15. Thanks RockfordStone....haha, next question....any string recommendations? Like my Elixirs but they are getting more expensive.
16. Hello all, We are recording at the moment. Should I be using new strings? Would it help me cut through more? I use elixir nanoweb at the moment and they are about a year old. Cheers, g
17. We rehearse at the same place this was recorded....Pauls Halls in Cumbernauld...thoroughly good people running a thoroughly good place.
18. Just bought one ditto yesterday. Played last night and it is great fun. You can work out how it works in less than 5 mins. Price has dropped to 85 too, so it's a no brainer if you are after a simple pooper. Quality seems superb, build wise and sound wise.
19. Nice looking set up. What model of bass is that? What's the purple do dah on top of your lovely head? Nice photo.
20. Had a good hour playing around last night. So simple and so fun. Love it. Also very transparent. Quality build too. Came up with a couple if loops that I was happy with straight away. Also came up with a couple of stinkers! Getting the button down at the correct time at the end of the bar is going to be key...lots if practice needed. Will go and listen to your sound now....
21. Any chance of some more YouTube or soundcloud recordings with different music styles to see hat they 're like in the mix? Like the aesthetics a lot, would like to hear how it responds to a valvey head in a rock situation.
22. And still in the box.... Once the wee one has gone to bed and the wife had fallen asleep on the sofa I will give it a good, but crap, go. Can't wait.
23. Oooh, nice one. Someone is going to enjoy it. Was playing around with mine last night with the supposed SVT eq settings. It sounded sweet and my l2000 loved it. Might try that setting at next rehearsal. Bass 9, mid 9, treb 11 ish. Mid sel at 600. Now also considering the focus 210 cab, shame I can't try them.
24. The first two albums are brilliant to jam along to. The third is good. The rest aren't so good....they got too polished! Personal favourite of mine is Slow Night So Long....ba ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba ba ba, ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba..........
