1. yeah, luckily i have an amp tech for a dad.. who specialises in high end german digital amps lol waiting for him to come home for his diagnosis
2. Big flash, sparks from the back, and a horrible smell... digital amps.. great in practice, definitely not gracious in death. Grrr.
3. certain basses will just never stop being worth a certain amount.. a US fender for instance will hit its bottom shelf of say around 500 quid, and always be worth that until something mad happens to the market or something drastic happens to the instrument. obviously someone saying "i just want to get back what i paid for it" with a custom instrument they just ordered is going to be disapointed
4. opto compulator looks to be gone.. other stuff still available.. will do a crazy offer on pedal board, power supply, octaver and chorus if anyone is interested
5.
I'm not really a fretless player, but that I like!! Are you only interested in trades for 5 string basses? I have a 4 string Warwick Corvette $$ I'd gladly trade for that beauty! If I had the cash, I'd buy but regrettably funds are down low...
hey dude.. it really is a stunner i was tempted, but im afraid i'm not a warwick fan thanks for the offer though J (edited trade options)
6. i dont think my 73 has it either.. dont think there was a mex version back then.. (cue someone to tell me im wrong lol!!)
7. i think its the black label non true bypass version

9. Evening All Heres a Bass that has been for sale here before.. but i picked it up on Ebay 18 months ago before i had discovered basschat. Its a French Made Bass By a Luthier called Fred if his email address is to be believed. Check below for four pictures i took in the summer when the sun was out and shining. The Specs are as follows (guesswork as i've never seen a definitive spec sheet) Thru Neck Flamed Maple body 3 piece neck (maybe 3 pieces of maple) painted headstock 1 x Delano Soapbar (coil tapable) 1 x Delano MM (coil tapable) passive tone (bass is passive) Ebony board i think.. lightweight design with mega long top horn so it balances well on a strap. Comes with kopo gigbag and set of labella tapewounds. issues.. buckle rash to the rear, and the odd ding here and there. At the end of the fingerboard on the body, there is a small crack to the lacquer. Sound? Really great, the coil tapping means there is a ton of sounds, even to satisfy someone more used to active basses. Action is low with no buzzing or dead spots. Reason For Sale - I bought this bass because uni was demanding more and more fretless playing.. since leaving almost 9 months ago, it hasnt been out of its case. Drives me mad having a bass i dont use, so im offering it up for trade or sale. Its hard to determine a value, as Kopo's website doesn't really give any definitive prices - http://www.kopo.fr/English/index_english.htm From looking at the site, i think this bass may have been around 1500 euros, which is 1300 quid. I bought it from the lovely Siddx for £725 Trades wise.. i'd be interested in any interesting stuff, money you way or mine. Amps.. got a lot of that at the moment lol, unless anyone has a tecamp xs112 8ohm cab.. i know thats a ridiculously specific request, but thats what i really need. But hit me with some trade offers.. a nice jazz would work for me.. or something and cool. If its another fretless, please only 5's cash value? any takers at 650? Give me a shout, ask any questions, and enjoy the photos.
10.
Fender Rumble, Earcandy sovereign, Orange Sp212 (small by 2x12 standards). Thats all I can think of. It is fairly limited.
The fender rumble cabs although some websites havingbthe up as 500 watt are in fact only 150.. So I'd be careful with pairing lol
11. ive very recently aquired this amp, and the tone is to die for! cheers paul
12. cheers JT, i see what you mean about the prices, wouldnt mind paying that though for a good job anyone done anything with DM guitars?
13. can anyone reccomend me someone (prefrebly midlands) who can refinish a jazz body please? someone good and dont mind paying for good rep.. etc
14. I just saw a gold coppello with a chrome pickup cover, which is something I have on the bass already.. Only problem is is the neck in pic is maple...
15. Take it out for a couple of gigs, chain it to your arm if you have too. Then take the Kramer out and see how you feel. Obv if your amp blows up then that doesn't really matter either way If the Kramer truly is doing all the Warwick does, then by all means sell it, but to me it feels like you haven't given it a chance in a gig situation
16. Have embarked upon a little mission after a series of events... Firstly, I found myself looking at wood and bodies and necks and planning as bass build... Then I was gassing after a custom super jazz with a more trad look... (stopped myself whilst eyeing up allevas...) Then I received an offer on my wreck of a jazz from a cheeky basschatter which has led to me satisfying all these urges by refinishing my bass! Here are my skills : Electronics and soldering.. Yep. Everything else.. Nope. Anyway here is my first topic asking advice. I've stripped the paint.. But have no idea what colour to go with. I'm gonna pay to have the paintwork done, because I guarantee I will hash it up. This bass in question is: 1996 fender American jazz 5 Metallic red Pao ferro board Standard fender electrics and pups. White pick guard. So what colours would you folks go for? I want something classic, but a little different, nothing that was as standard with this bass. I'm happy to get a pick guard done in a diff colour. Also, if I was to leave the body natural, is there a way to age the body and make it nice and yellowy? Also, as I want it to be more of a super jazz, should I go active? Or what do you guys think about having the classic stacked nobs? Help a brother out guys:p J So
17. You should stick this on eBay mate where Dj's and pa types can see it.. I think you may fetch a little more from personal experience..
