1. Never thought to post in here.. I'm a 22 year old bass player, currently in Walsall in the west midlands. Graduated with a first class degree in popular music last year, regularly gigged since 14. Have recently left originals band to find something more stimulating for me.. Can you offer that? I'm looking to play funk, soul, neo soul or anything that grooves along and makes me smile.. Lots of experience (well as much as a 22 year old can have) playing a wide range of styles, not interested in musicals (have done them but don't particularly enjoy), metal, classic rock or punk. Wide range of pro gear, both modern and vintage sounds. Have own transport and access to a wide range of PA gear. Good image, reliable, easy going... Some experience: regular dep work for past 6 years 3 musicals Competent stage tech/back line engineer First class degree pop music Headlined own night as a solo bassist at the jam house Birmingham Support slots with multiple signed and touring bands Festival appearances and residency Lots of studio experience with 2 originals outfits I'd love to get into a new Christian/gospel kinda thing if anyone's doing anything like hat and needs bass let me know, I've played at soul survivor and new wine, and it's a scene I'd love to be a part of once again Get in touch for more info, headshots or anything like that: [email protected] James
2. Not enough strings for me dude! I've always loved that top though
3.
Terence was a price rise on April 1 anyway.
Surely that's an example of the extremely helpful iPad/phone spell check?
4. Plus genz Benz use eminence noes don't they?
5. What about the brands that only do lightweight? Mark bass Tecamp etc...
6. I feel a bit of a disgrace now, therefore, salt on your bass deserves all the kudos

8.
james is a real honest guy, has loads of real nice gear and can play real good too, Looks after his gear too! Bump for a GREAT BLOKE Regards Mark
Lol Mark... Great bloke, yeah that's true hha, but I'm not sure the "looks after his gear part is deserved on a thread for a bass I almost ruined through carelessness lol! Good to hear from you chap
9. Cromer this is an old thread, sorry this bass got sold, not through basschat which I guess is why I forgot to clean this thread up. Sorry:)
10. There's no harm in trying them all along the way is there
11.
Yeah I know, mate. But I just spent a LOT of money on the car, and I promised myself long ago, no new money on the instruments.
Haha, how many have us said that! At least you are safe in the knowledge that if you do want to buy a Warwick, the Market is certainly in your favour right now! (at least for a used one)
12. Nigel If I could at all help you on this difficult journey you are undertaking, I would... Why not keep the fender, and save up for a Warwick, an just enjoy both
13. Shocked this hasn't gone.. It's a good job I'm in the canaries otherwise I'd be making the 5 minute car journey down o just have a look on the off chance lol!
14. Haha, it's a Hercules triple stand, great piece of kit!
15. The guy who runs bass gear isna pretty active member on here, drop him a PM? If you search "satinline" in this forum you'll find him as he was the op in a thread about these basses. I've had three shukers and they've all been great, I'm sure Jon must be happy with them to put his name on!
16.
Having spent hours myself researching heads and cabs I'd go with what Bill says, he does afterall make his living out of this area. If I remember correctly Bill would suggest stacking the 2x10's on top each other rather than side by side to give better dispersion. As an aside, has the suggested min head gone up on BC recently? When I first joined the forum, and as Bill has suggested an adequate amp was 300w. It now seems to be 500w. Is there a reason for this?
Maybe that's down to many 500w amps being digital and providing the same grunt as a "good old" 300 watter
17. Cheers dude I'm looking at the photoes and thinking that I wouldn't be too upset if this didn't go Just ashame it's not gonna played much
18. Just to clarify, its a good kind of pain
19. These are absolute monsters, I use one with 2x 4x10's... Pain
