2. we had some of those cabs in the shop, thats about right secondhand, they aren't that efficient
3. just a follow on from my suggest me a combo thread, i was allowed to place a few orders with some different companies and have stocked up with some new hartke, GK, markbass and soon some EBS stuff thanks for the suggestions people not bad for a little independent shop i think Stay tuned, because i'm hoping to write a three way review/shootout between the hartke lh500/2x10 hydrive combo, markbass cmd121 and GK mb500 2x10 combo!
4. crazy!! these cabs rrp are over a grand now! I have two, and they are just incredible. I'd have this one, but 3 would be silly lol..
5. just i thought, and probably something you have considered.. does the mag amp have the ashdown preshape button on it? if so, have you tried running with it not on? spoils the sound of my bass for me..
6. Found this for you http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TC-Electronic-RS212-...b2#ht_757wt_922
7. Thought I'd get in before everyone else.. But buy used from here, and get more for your dough! A mate of mine sold his rh450 and 4x10 for 900!
8. Price is 1399 as stated in the article
9. I read that article in the mag, looks quite tidy, definitely compact and solid. Check out the secret shopper.. Review of thevshop I work in
10. Thanks for all suggestions, today I placed a pretty big order with hartke. Ordered a range of stuff, got an lh500 head with one of the new ak cabs. Also got one of the hydrive combos, a 2x10 with an lh500, which I'm looking forward to seeing. Also got some of the b series stuff, and will maybe get a kickback combo if the price comes down a bit. Thanks for all the input!

Shuker.

i played a 36/or 37 made for a giant american session player by overwater.. was a struggle for me, and i'm 6,3 with and handspan of 25cm.. and i couldn't play it
12. +1 for the S/H berg cabs at bass direct. Purely because if you don't i will go and buy them, and make a lot of people very cross with me in the process
13. https://www.bbc.co.uk/labuk/experiments/musicality/ quite a good little test, and challenging too in bits, especially the musical grouping. although, when it asks what your main instrument, typically Bass guitar isn't an option... bit crap aint it?
14.
That's a good book. While it's nice to read a melody,at this stage I think it's more important to actually become competent with recognising the notes. It might be me,but if you are not comfortable yet,I don't know how it can be boring. You've still got plenty to do from that book. If you want a change, find some simple transcriptions where you can apply what you learn
i agree, i have that book, if if you think the rhythms on one note are intensely boring, just wait till some of the melodies you have to play.. they make no sense lol!! just stick with it, and avoid the temptation of playing the lines by memory or by ear
15. the fender rumbles arent as loud as some of the websites say.. they are selling them as 500w, which is the peak wattage. they are more like 150w each i think.. they sound nice, the horn control in interesting, but your amp could destroy them
16. we could all chip in a pound, and share it... or donate it to someone who deserves it... i know this great kid from walsall called james tolley, can he be top of the shortlist?
17. thanks :L), believe me there were some hair pulling moments trying to get imovie to work
18.
Really liked it love the tone of the bass!
i know.. makes me wonder why i spend so much on basses lol when i can get that sound with the crafter lol!
19. thanks had some great inspiration from some of the members on here, so a lot of thanks to them really
20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZknZiMSy0c Nice little thing recorded with an Ipad and my crafter acoustic bass Enjoy
21.
What have you went for?
im thinking ampeg and hartke.. just need to talk to suppliers
22. just get headphones that have noise cancelling properties.. a set of ultimate ears have a -30db cut to the outside world, so as the guitar on stage noise will be quieter, you wont have to turn the iem level up too loud
23. love the geezer with the beard looking more and more awkward lol!
24.
Hey, as a consumer and I walked into a shop that had Mb/gk with maybe the cheaper ampegs? I would be impressed. I have heard that the gk and Mb are rather clean amps and the ampeg has a little more dirt, then you would be able to have variety. The BA series seems to be in that price range. Though I'm only a consumer not a retailer and thus have no experience in the field.
Thanks for that shout on the ampeg stuff, I will be per suing that today
25.
Do you have the 300w all valve job? I really want to hear about those from someone who has actually plugged into one.
Yeah we have two actually, one ex demo and one seconhand.. A lot of amp for 299 and 199 respectively! Im not one for valve amps, but the sound you get from these beasts is pretty cool, nice and warm, and can get all Grundy when it wants too.. I think people are put off by there nameand price tag.. Tbh, the kt88's on show looks awesome
