Today i spent the day preparing an exercise for a student.. he wants to learn the Modes... i set up a drum loop and electirc piano parts, then did a track for each mode. In each track i started by recording the scale, then recording a groove using notes from the mode, then recording a solo using that mode. I must say, when i had to concentrate on grooving modally, my "feel" and general grooviness absolutely sucked. Maybe because its just because i don't do it often, but for me, grooving is all about being natural
Yep, that's what I was on about Gaf -cheers. A quick google search said the tuners on the US versions can be different - they're the ones with the big baseplate apparently. Any chance of a pic of the back of the headstock?
To satisfy your interest, heres a pic of the machineheads... but im sorry, the bass has been sold to mr 4 Candles thanks for all the kind comments and interest James

I think you may be right there, but the light in my pics is a bit shoddy, I'll try and take some better ones If the light is good outside tommorrow. There is a definate greeny kinda twinge to it. As to trades, I'm sorry, I need some cash back after this weeks spending spree
Looks like sonic blue to me, sea foam is the middle colour in this piccy;
Now i have an original 70's P, i can move this on. Its a fender "made in japan" jazz in surf green i think. The serial number is J followed by six digits, which indicates it was made in 1989/1990. The bass has been set up nicely, with a low action and sounds great! The pickup screws are a little bit rusty, so dont move fully up unfortunately. Bass has been cleaned up and strung with new rotos. the body has a few dings, the neck is fairly good for a 20 year old bass. theres a stamp on the neck that says 62 ri, so i think its a 62 reissue? The pickguard has got holes in it for a pickup cover, but the body hasn't... so i don't really know whats going on there... Don't really know what its worth, have searched through the marketplace on here and they seem to have gone between 700 and 325 pounds... http://www.fender.com/support/colorchart.p...en&color=41 - closest color thats similar on fender colour chart So lets say 475? but i'll listen to offers payment can be cash or paypal, i can post for 20 quid, comes with a fender gigbag, probably not original.
I'm sure you'll join me in thanking a very nice young chap from Brum called James who loved the bass and took it off me for a very fair price. We are both delighted!
and now about 18 months later i've discovered basschat lol... still love the kopo! -
great budget do you detune? for the heavy stuff, you'll probably want something with a 35" scale
From those, id go for tuner > compressor > octave > filter > chorus > reverb Tuners and octaves at the beginning can help with more accurate tracking. Compressors are a more personal choice, but I like mine at the start so it doesnt muffle up some of my dirt pedals.
thanks, ill give that a go

OK so it all starts with a Radial Big shot signal selector then effects in the chain are... 3 leaf audio envelope filter ebs octa bass ebs reverb Boss TU2 Boss Chorus and Demeter opto compulator (compressor) what do you folks reckon>?
