3. bump for sunday special!
4. Walter Becker's guitar too.. very desirable!
5. Ok the bass has been into the shop today, string spacing is sorted (strings were strung through the bridge wrong) I havnt cut into the bridge, I'm gonna leave that up to a potential buyer.. Open to offers, give me a shout!
6. sorry i meant years not weeks Sure i recognise you from the pic
I guess not man, been out of there since 14th August - used to run the occasional jam night down there myself albeit with a strong national contigent from the Music Radar forum! Best of luck with it, the market's certainly there it's just keeping everything rotating - if you haven't already drop in the White Lion on Sandwell St for one of their open mic nights (Thursday, IIRC) and let 'em know!
7.
Dammit, until a month ago I was living three minutes' walk from that pub! Haven't been in since it's been under new management though, I'll try to pop in if I'm in the area one week - hope it goes well!
Ian did you used to come when i used to run it there about 3 weeks ago?
8. Cool, if you guys come along, i'll reserve a table for the west brom crew
9.
What, isn't my word good enough for you?
Haha! of course i did! Well just spoke to the buyer, its definitely coming back. When it's back, i'll check it out, once its sorted it will be for sale though, as 4 5 string fretted basses is frankly quite ridiculous!
10. Some research on talkbass tells me that these bridges need to be filed (thanks to a post from mr. sadowsky) himself. Looks like Jon didn't file it (or left me to do it for myself).. either way i'm going to get this bass sorted out
11. Oh dear.. Maybe the potential buyer hasn't posted it back to me yet... the deal may still yet be salvaged!
12.
Can't you just put a new BA V on (or any 5 string bridge come to that) and file the saddles correctly this time? Whoever returned it just for that will be kicking themselves if that's all it will take.
File the saddles? i didnt do that to this one? excuse the ignorance, but is the customer supposed to do that with a BA bridge?
13. Ok i've had to take this bass back. Its a true testament to how little i played, as i never noticed the problem. The Baddass bridge is somewhat strange, leading to one of the strangest string spacings ever.. I'm going to be getting in touch with Jon about this, as the bass is pretty hard to play. If anyone has any idea how to fix this, please give me a shout.. such a terrible waste of this amazing piece of wood
14. Unfortunately a deal that didn't come off, but he still deserves some positive feedback. Mike spotted a problem with the bass that i had overlooked. He was a pleasure to deal with both before and after the problem became apparent.
15. My Jam Night runs In walsall west midlands every other wednesday
16. pms replied to, still avaliable
17. Cool stuff!
18. Hey people I have just set up a Jam Night, in walsall west midlands. Its not going to be the standard pub band chugging through covers.. Its being run as a fairly quiet thing designed to engage with and entertain musicians and non musicians alike. Im hoping its going to take off, i'm running it next door to the campus where i used to study Popualr music, so im hoping for some really interesting and entertaining nights. First one is 8pm on wednesday the 6 of october Anyone in the area, would be great to see you there, its free to come along, and encouraged that you join in lol! Its at the Wheatsheaf, birmingham road walsall... which also does some lovely real ale if that is your thing PM me for more info! J
19. Wood and tronics kronos.. Amazing. Definately worth the cash
20. And that Shuker has now gone to fund a Wood&Tronics situation.... Oh lordy when will this end :S Bump for a good bass and good bloke
Indeed it was, so good that even after I'd got it people were trying to buy it straight off me! Of course, James needed cash for his Shuker, a situation I'm sure we've all been in at one point or another!
