2. the two you have picked are my two of my favourites but also - Rikki dont lose that number - chord progression is amazing Josie - NIce groove and some interesting chords My old school - nice and aggressive stabs throughout and Dirty Work - not classic dan stuff, but would probably would work well for a duo

4.
You are absolutely right of course. But just as we all like to eat different food, where would we be if we could not discuss and argue our positions, the better to stimulate, enlighten and broaden ourselves. Oscar has posted some music he greatly loves but to me it is an abomination. However, I don't like funk at all but Crazykiwi once posted a gospel jam once that completely blew me away, I became mildly obsessed with it and it forced me to rethink. The debate is how we learn, it has its own purpose, it is how we surprise and delight each other. Peace x
completely agree i just wish everyone could be nice to each other lol
5. differing opinions and tastes... just think where the world would be without them. Personally i love being able to have a different style of takeaway every night, just as i love being able to listen to a different style of music with just a click of a mouse. So even if different peoples ideas cause little differences between people, I'm glad of them, because as a result life is varied and exciting... get my drift?
6. Just make sure the cab can take that many watts

10. Some of you may remember my "waiting for a courier" thread in the summer... which basically turned into me waiting for a Shuker after 4 days of the courier not being able to find my house... Well it seems i am in the same situation again! I'm expecting the bass today, and am hoping for no issues this time.. However it seems my subconscious is waiting for something to go wrong.. I woke up at 7 this morning, and thought, "right i need to listen out for the door. Next thing i know, there is a courier outside with a small package for my girlfriend. When i go out i ask if the is one for me, to which he replies yes, and retrieves a bass shaped box from the van. I carry the box inside, open it up to find a cream vox jazz bass with tort plate (i don't know if vox ever did a jazz copy). i inspect the bass further, and find that there is a receipt tucked in the strings... the receipt is from my Dads guitar shop, which is even stranger. Next thing i know i'm in bed again, furiously opening up my mac to find the phone number of the BCer who has sent me the wrong bass. A quick glance around the room then confirms that i haven't actually received a bass.. let alone been out of bed yet.. one daft dream not being enough, i turn over for a bit more of a nap.. only to have another one. This time the courier has left the bass on the drive in its hardcase, with a single 2nd class stamp on the case... i open the case up to find the P bass i was expecting... but in this dream world The body of the bass about three times thicker than it should be.. I think I'm done with buying bass gear, my mind cant take it anymore lol!!

13.
Great point. There are a lot of people who think that teaching at an 'advanced' level means they can show someone how to play a Flea slap line or tapped arpeggios. I know when I have a lesson,I want to know how and why things are working and to have it written out so I can work on it later.I don't want to learn 'licks'. Believe it or not, when I had my last lesson I ended up with about 4 bars written out by the end of it and that gave me enough to study for at least 6 months,as well as a whole load of new ideas and concepts.Hopefully the same will happen in a couple of weeks when I have my next lesson. That's what I want from an 'advanced' teacher.
wow. could you PM me the details for your teacher? staffordshire isn't too far from me
14.
I'm not entirely sure why the peanut gallery is sniggering at this. Seems like an entirely legitimate listing. It's not a million miles from me - does anyone want me to go and check it out?
i wasnt laughing at the bass.. the almostburner comment was priceless
15. re-read my post.. certainly looked like i was trying to big myself up.. Sorry i think i was trying to use myself as evidence in not really knowing what makes an advanced bass teacher, in that i advertise but cant define what it means. Completely agree with the above post.. all great attributes to what sounds like a great teacher
16. on my teaching adverts i have "beginner to advanced".. i'm not really sure what it means.. But i feel confident in teaching whats considered to be the advanced playing styles... i really dunno, all my students are pretty much beginners of course, other peoples ideas of advanced playing differ between people.. its all pretty subjective
17. Does the value of vintage instruments vary form country to country does anyone know? Or is just down to the varying value of different currency?
18. saying that, the 1x12 i was talking about has been removed lol.. the new york 1x12 looks pretty much the same though
19. my mate has the cmd112 - he uses the matching compact 1x12 mb cab, and it sounds great, and stacks fine

21. this 15 was mine for a short time... nicest 15 i have ever heard
22. Cuz it is CBS? Pre cbs would mean it was before cbs bought the company? thus older and more sought after.. Mark hasn't written 'pre' on the ad
23. great condition! yum indeed
24. has anyone seen the guitar amps yet? the rep brought the 2x12 40w all valve combo into the shop. Very light, great clean sound but just couldn't get it dirty enough.. ridiculous money too. Hopefully they haven't put a load of money into them...
