1. Just read the title, if you can find the deposit for the shuker (around 40%) then the waiting game could certainly work for you, as by the time you've saved it should be ready! Although, this is certainly one to look at while your still thinking... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=126803&st
2.
Currently GAS'ing for a 6 string bass and I've got a shortlist, budget around 2k (which I don't have) and I'm not going to be making a move for a long time however: Bongo 6 (In red or blue) Shuker 6 (Horn or Uberhorn) Dingwall AfterBurner I in probably whalepoolburst What would be your choice? Why? Any other selections to keep this GAS interesting?
Bongo 6's sound incredible.. But to me, they just feel enormous! I have a Sumer 6, and it's great! But the you do need to factor in the agonising wait and build time! I did like the Dingwall 6 I tried, but again, with the long scale on the b, it felt big. If you like single cuts, check out the wood n tronics 6er at bass direct! Very nice.
3. I've considered blocking the page for my own good... Maybe once my wood n tronics has sold
4. Hey all I'm wondering if anybody knows where I can find somebody who makes the wooden pickup covers? I realise this normally is something manufacturers do, but I'd like one for my shucker single cut. Do they normally get used in place of the normal plastic surrounds? Or do they go over the whole pickup? Because I'd like a ramp on the bass too, I was wondering if someone could make me something that went over both pickups in like a single slab... Any ideas?
5. Wondering home drunk in maspalomas kinda bump
6. Bump One very tempting trade offer that im still considering I'm off on holiday on monday, will be online and can reply to pm's etc
7. HI all the weight came out at a very well balanced 9.4 pounds, on the bathroom scales
8. Cant find the weight anywhere online, so it'll have to be the scales when I get home. I did find out the preamp is nordstrand
9. Thanks for the question, I'm going to find out
Very nice. Been looking for one of these for a while. What is the weight please ?
10. Bump for photos trade options and a slight pricedrop! sorry the photos are in a daft order.. lol
11. Afternoon all. A new Shuker and a dreadful situation with tecamp forces this sale unfortunately. One of the best basses I've ever played, but it has to go as its a bit of an indulgence after another Shuker, and quite frankly I need to recoup some dosh. Excuse this preliminary ad. I'm on The phone at work. Pics and more info later. Wood and tronics 5 string chronos singlecut in aqua tint, thru neck. Body is walnut, then the neck is rock maple and ash. Fingerboard is ebony. Top is 5a quilted poplar with an aqua tint. Other sPecial bits include ebony headstock veneer with wave logo, ebony ramp. Banjo frets keep things low fast and comfy, brass nut and m.o.p dots. Eq is wood and tronics own, pickups are Kent Armstrong. W&t recommend this tuned e to c, which it is at the moment. The nut is cut for a standard 5ver, so there's a bit of paper in the nut at the moment. When strung up as a normal 5 the b string is phat and phenomenal for a 34" Eq is volume, pan treble (with passive tone control) middle and bass. Bridge is w&t own. Hipshot ultralite tuners. Sorry for this brief and somewhat vague description, typing on the phone is tedious at best. If you want to have a look before I put pics up, check out the link to my YouTube in my sig.. Those who see the video, it's is right handed lol! It's also heavily featured on the w&t website. This bass cost the previous owner 3000 quid. I paid 2300 used in perfect nick. I've put a couple of marks on The back from the old belt, one ding on the side and some marks on the edge I'm looking for 1900 pounds (pricedrop cuz i found some more marks) or pm a serious offer. This bass is available to try, and can be shipped in a hiscox liteflit I will include. Trades, i'll look it stuff of a similar value, or will need some cash for stuff thats of lesser value. A pedulla pentabuzz would be very tempting! That or something vintage i can sell on. If you think i'd be interested in a higher value bass, then let me know, as maybe i could put some money toward a deal.. One other thing, I've nicked the ebony knobs to put on my Shuker, and they have been replaced with some high quality black chunky ones that look great. Stay tuned for the updated version of this when I get home ps. the dogs dont come with the bass.. although you can pm a serious offer James
12. i know of someone who sold a 59 les paul for a quarter of a million at auction... To someone trying to complete a vintage guitar (if they are genuine) then surely the return will be worth it..

17.
If the big guy with the beard is an improvement I shudder to think what the previous people were like because that guy that Happy Jack mentions has been a complete and utter tosser every single time I've went in there. To give a specific example if you will. This incident happened maybe 8 or 9 months ago. I had been looking out for a gigbag that will fit my 8 string explorer. I've been compensating by using my bag for my buzzard, however this was far from an ideal fit. I go on the web and look at Ritter's stuff and notice that they have a bag which will fit. I was in the bass cellar a few days before and remember them saying they sold Ritter stuff. Now for the fun. The same beardy guy (and another bloke with long hair) tell me that Ritter have went bust (within the last week) and that the conversation I refer to above - NEVER HAPPENED. Nice. Call your customer a liar why don't you. This is different to "I don't remember" before anyone suggests I'm over-reacting. It was a "I/We never said that" conversation. It then gets better. Idiot No. 2 suggests that Warwick do a bag which would fit an Explorer. I decide to play along. I know they mean the one for the buzzard. For those of you who know, this bag can be obtained from Thomann for £65. I decide to wait and see how much they want to fleece me for it. The bloke checks through a big book for a few seconds - no doubt entitled "How to rip off your customers - Vol 5" and then turns to me and says that this bag - (a GIGBAG!!) is going to set me back (WAIT FOR THIS!!) £138. Yes, you read that correctly. ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY EIGHT POUNDS. For something I can get for half that elsewhere. I then thought about this after walking out confused as to whether I should be laughing heartily or extremely angry. However, I then contacted Headstock distribution who told me that Ritter had not in fact went bust (as if I believed that pile of crap to start with) and suggested a much saner place to shop. As it turned out they had what I wanted so all was well. I will never, ever, for any reason whatsoever, regardless of emergency or anything shop with those utter tubes in the Bass Cellar ever again. If only they could follow the Bass Centre into "internet only" oblivion. This is not an isolated incident. These people don't care about repeat business or customer service.
with all due respect and sympathy for this incident, i'm pretty sure he quoted you the price from the book.. depending on when this incident took place, a few years back thomann was hammering uk shop prices due to the strength of the pound.. and also because warwick is a german brand, they were obviously getting a better trade price than the uk retailers. and also with the ritter thing, this was confusion over the state of the company.. my shop were told they were out of business, and we could no longer get the cases anymore, yet our rival shop over the road continued to sell them.. very odd.
