1. Have a look on Ebay. You can buy just an Aerodyne body in a really cool Japan only colour and fit your neck to that. Cant think of a better way to do it. It will come from USA but its will be worth it. Aero is the best PJ around IMHO. That is unless you want to spend mucho folding stuff that is. Upgrade the jazz pup later to an SD and you will have a truly superb bass. All best
2. My old jazz was new when I bought it in 73. It now has its own distressed look but I have earned that over the last 40 years. Cant believe anyone would want to pretend their bass was much older than it actually is. If you have it distressed from new it will probably look like a total wreck when it is as old as mine
3. 73jazz that I have had since new and will never part with. Not much time for P basses. If you want the best of both worlds id get an Aerodyne and upgrade the jazz pup for an SD.
4. Hi Luke. Just a point. This pre-amp in an ACG with ACG pups is truly superb, but bear in mind that the pups on your Warwick combined with the inherant tonal properties of your Warwick design, and the woods that is made of will affect the sound. Could be a stroke of genius though. All best
5. Lovely. Not flashy - just pure understated class. Well done. Great taste.
6. mmm nice. having just acquired an ACG myself I now know what all the fuss is about. Top basses everybody. Go on - you wont regret getting hold of this fellas. Spoil yourself you deserve it
7. mmm. very nice man. this shouldnt hang around long. good luck for a bit of class
8. Hi, sorry I dont know how to create a PM mail on this site. Could you send one to me. I live at Durham just up the road from Darlington and have a very rare colour mint Aerodyne. If you are interested please PM me. If not, good luck with it. Thanks for your time. all best Chris ( rednose200 )
9. Oh Yeah. How nice is that. I have a Rogue and yes they all play and sound like nothing else. Love it
10. I absolutely hate signature guitars. Its only a sales gimmick for dummies who think that by buying a sig bass will make them play like the person its named after. Funny old world
11. Fitting after market bridges is fine and usually improves the sound. However if this is a genuine original Fender - do not throw away the original bridge. If you want to sell it later,it is better to have the original equipment on it. Oh yeah and never fit anything that means you drill extra holes in the body - Disaster if you do that.
12. Yes low and rich is correct. However if you want an explorer bass that plays great, sounds the dogs bollocks, and DOESNT have neck dive - go and find an alembic
13. Everything I have read above is true. Just an awful plank. Oh, and they really give your speakers a good hammering as well. Not recommended
14. Thats a nice bass man. If you havent got the chrome pickup and bridge covers, I'd get them. They arent expensive and finish that classic look. Put a tadge on the value as well for you. All best.
15. Hi Greg, I have a 73 jazz with black blocks. I wouldnt sell it for the world. However, not all are good ones. At that time Fenders jigs were all getting a bit worn, and this caused problems with the neck joint in the main. With a lot of these old ones you can move the neck from side to side in the neck pocket. If you look closely you can see the gap between the neck and body. Thats what to look for really. I wouldnt try and move the neck in a shop or you might do damage or get thrown out to be honest. So look closely Greg. The next thing which is critical with old Fenders, both P's and J's is that the 'C' on the fifth fret of the G string is prone on many to be dead. If that happens my advice would be not to buy. Thats the best test of how well the neck fits with the body. Personally my advice ( if you have 2K to spend ) would be to go upmarket. A Mayones Jabba is a great jazz and in budget. If you really want a Fender, then I would look no further than a Japan made '62 reissue Jazz with US pickups. The reverse wind tuners are excellent. IMHO these are the best Fenders made. Japanese that is. Ebay is as good as anywhere to look Greg. Hope this has been of some help. All best.
16. Hi Frederick. With respect it may be worth that much in Belgium but it isnt here I'm afraid. A really sweet one failed to sell last week on ebay at £775. That was gross of commission and no doubt Paypal fees too. However we will wait and see what the owner has to say. All best to you for the New Year. Ah --- those wonderful Belgian beers !!!!! You lucky guy.
17. Hi from the North East. I love your bass. Will be in London next week. Best I can offer is £800 cash. All I got at the moment I'm afraid. Would you be interested in this figure. Like your tracks too. Neat and great recordings. Call 07980011272. All best for the New Year. Thanks. Chris. rednose200
18. Jesus man I cant believe this is still not sold. These Jaguars are so undersold and understated. They really are a bit of a secret, as they are absolutely superb. Somebody buy it before he changes his mind. Personally I would not trade for a Miller - no way. Do what is on my Jag. Fit a Gotoh chromed brass bridge, have Howard fit a brass nut, and do a straight swap with the tuners to vintage reverse winds - they are a perfect fit, no new holes. You wont want to sell it then, not when you find it rings for ages like a £3000 boutique job. All best though, hope somebody out there knows how good it is and grabs a bargain
19. Man thats a bargain. I have one exactly the same. They are just the dogs testicles. Mine is fitted with a chrome brass Gotoh bridge and brass nut and it rings like a £3000 bass. Good luck with the sad sale. If anybody knows what they are looking at, it should fly. All best.
