1.
The classic is a SUB copy really
Lol :-)
  2.
Not normal, I've had mine since they were launched and never experienced anything like that.

Sounds broken to me - I've used them a lot at a rehearsal studio & they shouldn't hiss. With the gain at 9 o'clock turning the blend up slowly should take it from clean to vintage sounding tube then more gain & blend takes it to royal blood territory.
Thanks for the replies. I have given it another go today. i have checked i have the active pad pushed in, although my Stingray hasn't got a really hot active anyway. i have also rolled off the treble a little bit on the amp. I am still getting loads of hiss from the amp, this isn't really a problem whilst playing, but it would drive me crazy at rehearsals and between songs. Luckily i bought the amp new from an online music store only a few days ago, so i will be sending back for a full refund. i will find one in a shop, that way i can try it out, to check all is ok first. cheers thebassman
  3. So, I have been gassing for this amp for a while, read lots of reviews on here , and watched many a YouTube vid. I couldn't resist the sale price at andertons, so bit the bullet and ordered one. First off it looks great, build quality excellent. I plugged it into my 2*12 cab, and connected my stingray. The clean sounds great, very nice rounded tone. I have the eq all set at 12 o'clock, gain approx 9 o'clock. When I increase the blend to 9 o'clock, it hisses like mad. It is like this with bass guitar volume rolled on or off. Is this what others are getting? Or is the amp faulty. I can swap out just the amp to my shuttle Max, no hiss at all, so not the leads, cab or bass. I really want to get on with this amp, any user comments would be welcome. Cheers Thebassman
  4. Also pm'd I'll take 2ND dibs on that, if OBBM changes his mind. Cheers Thebassman
  5. Thanks for the replies and the link dood Cheers Thebassman
  6.
This would be a good start if you've not seen it already http://basschat.co.uk/topic/259224-orange-ob1-500-review/
Thanks, I did see that a while back, even added to the thread too. I was hoping a few others might have more user experience by now. I might have to get one and write my own. Cheers Thebassman
  7. Not seen much on these amps. Has anyone got one? I would love to hear some user reviews. Cheers Thebassman
  8. Hi I just bought this lovely Dark Glass Vintage Micro Tubes Deluxe of the Basschat forum last week. I couldn't decide whether to get the VMTD or the B7K. The VMTD is a great pedal, but i want a little more grit. The pedal is in as new condition, with box. please see linked thread http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 I have only used it for about 20 mins indoors after purchase, so it's still like new. I am really looking for a straight swap for a Dark Glass B7K, must be in as new condition too. I may just sell it, if no trade comes up. If so insured delivery is included in the price, to UK destinations. thanks thebassman

  11.
Mine arrived yesterday. Build quality and finish is amazing at this price. Perched it on top of my Bergantino HT112ER and EX cabs, connected and nervously switched on. Waited a couple of minutes and flicked the standby off. All I can say at this point is that this is a fantastic sounding amp with incredible depth which may be down to the valve power amp? I was concerned that it might be DOA but it is built like a tank and the valves are all okay at the moment. It's interesting to watch the infinium circuit LEDs flash intermittently as they continually monitor and adjust the valve bias. My normal gigging rig is markbass LM3 and neo cabs but this heavy weight head plus ceramic speakered combination is making me fear for my back as it really is something else.
It looks great. Where did you buy it and how much? Cheers Thebassman
  12. Fantastic looking amp. I'm really wanting a nice valve amp again. Will you ship to the UK? Cheers Thebassman
  13.
Hi folks, I'm on a bit of a quest at the moment to find a nice gigging quality bass head. Of those that I have tried out so far, the Orange OB-1 is coming near the top of the list. However, before I part with my cash I was hoping to hear the opinions of a few people that have had one for a while and gigged it a bit. How well does it fare out there in the real world? Best wishes James
I'd be interested in this too. Cheers Thebassman

  18.
Edit: and now I've bought Chris's 300w Landmark head, I'll definitely need more cone area, so this is back up the charts... Cheers, Muzz
If the landmark doesn't work out for you, I'll take it off your hands. Have a free bump. Cheers Thebassman
  19. Hi Kev i plug it into my genz 2x12 4 ohm cab. I have only used it for home/ studio use. it is quite loud though, would be cool if you had pa support. cheers thebassman
  20. Hi Guys I have a fantastic little Ashdown CTM 15 for sale. You can dial in a really rich clean or growly tone from the all tube output section, perfect for home rehearsals or studio recording. You can really crank it up with deafening yourself. It comes with 4 years of the 5 year warranty left, gig bag and all the original packaging, so shipping isn't a problem. It's in perfect condition and sounds great. This was purchased in December 2013, it still has 4 of the 5 year warranty left. Receipt is included. I am looking for £210, this price includes shipping within the UK. This is from the Ashdown website, they can say it better than me: The Ashdown CTM-15 tube bass amplifier head is all about big valve tone in a tiny package that's perfect for recording but just bold enough for small gigs. Low power, big sound Plug in and lay down a few bass lines through the Ashdown CTM-15 tube amp, and you won't be the first to wonder "Wow, is that really only 15 watts?". CTM-15 delivers deceptively large tones from its dual EL84 power stage, and it's low wattage means its easier to get red-blooded overdrive by driving it hard – all without shaking the foundations. Whether the session needs big fat clean tones or growling, overdriven bass, the CTM-15 has you covered. Find the sweet spot fast with the VU meter display Like all similarly equipped Ashdown's, the CTM-15's analogue VU meter isn't just there for show. Giving an instant accurate display of your power amp's output the CTM-15's VU meter let's you quickly find your amps sweet spot – where the magic really happens. Ready to rock With 4 and 8 ohm speaker outputs, the CTM-15 is ready to plug into your bass cab and rock. The CTM-15 also comes with a custom fit gig bag, making it easy to transport safely to every session. cheers thebassman
