1.
Anybody else play the black one of these they had at the LBGS at the weekend?? Very nice....Priced at £1800 for the show, this seems incredibly cheap by comparison... GLWTS

This was way too cheap when it was up for sale in Bass Direct and it is way too cheap now! Really surprised this hasn't already been snapped up. Very versatile basses and top quality. Someone will be getting a great bass at a great price.
Thanks guys, it certainly is a fantastic bass and a hell of a good price. I guess the market is just a bit flat at the moment. Cheers Thebassman
 2. Well I've just finished our first set. The amp was ok, not as nice as my shuttlemax, but it did surprise me for a 150 watt combo. The venue mix was really good too. Cheers Thebassman
 3.
Your NX212 can't have a big footprint, can't you just put the Trace ontop of the Genz cab and then the Shuttle ontop of the Trace?
I would of liked to, but I have to catch the tube so will be a bit much to take. Cheers Thebassman
 4.
Take your own if you can... I had a commando for a while and it was crap.
I like that, straight to the point :-) Cheers Thebassman
 5.
Ah, not done that one so can`t offer any advice on said rig/set-up.
No worries. I think I might take my shuttlemax head tonight, see if I can plug it in somewhere. Cheers Thebassman
 6.
As a matter of interest, what venue is it (I`ve played a few down that way)?
It's the zigfrid von underbelly, Hoxton square.
 7. Yeah, I'm not too impressed. There are 5 other bands on and the venue have insisted we all use the provided backline. I haven't played any "originals" only gigs for a few years. I'd forgotten how much effort they are for not much reward. I do prefer playing our own music to covers, but you always get treated more like cattle moving through the half hour slots. I'll see if I can contact the sound engineer before I leave to see what can be done. Cheers Thebassman
 8. Not what you think, thankfully. I've got a gig in Hoxton tomorrow night and the venue have just informed us we have to use the house backline. It's a trace Elliot commando, anyone got any experiences with these? I did have a look on google, seems to be a 1x15, 150 watt combo. I'm guessing it is just used for stage monitors. cheers thebassman
 9.
And in my experience, the two Daves at Aguilar are just as approachable/happy to chat about gear too :-)
Not forgetting Alex from Barefaced too, he has emailed me several times and is always available on BC for a chat. Cheers Thebassman
 10. yeah, gotta admit, it sounds really nice. Any idea what cab he is playing through? Are the final specs and price available yet? cheers thebassman
 11. Just sold a Mesa 2x12 cab to Col. He's a nice guy to deal with, good communications, all in a smooth, easy transaction. As above, deal with confidence. Thebassman
 12.
This is truly a very beautiful bass. I noticed it in the 2nd hand section of Bass Direct a few weeks ago. What is unusual about this particular guitar is that it doesn't have a string tree on the headstock. The bar string tree usuually fitted is, I think, ugly, and not of the quality of the other fitments. So, your guitar is special. I was wondering why, though, that you want to sell it so soon after purchasing it.
Hi It is a lovely bass, great tone and versatility. I bought it over the Christmas break, but I have now just started going through a house move so need the funds. Cheers Thebassman
 13.
Fortunately I didn't have to buy anything as i had an old 4U sleeve in the shed so i lifted that handle . Its just screwed in and is pretty tight, pretty hefty screws too, plus the mental faster parts have sharp edges that dig into the wood as you tighten the screws. Works a treat so far, although i may replace the screws for nuts and bolts should they come loose....but come to think of it the 4U case used to house a heavy amp some years ago, probably heavier than this Genz cab too. My handle is similar to this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gold-Guitar-Amplifier-Strap-Handle-for-Marshall-Plexi-and-other-amp-cabinets- /121273373423?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Other&hash=item1c3c74d2ef
Nice one, looks good. I'm sure it's strong enough, but I would still be tempted to use bolts. I found the easiest way to get into the cab is just take one of the side handles off. This leaves quite a big hole to reach inside. Cheers Thebassman
 14.
Well it had to be done in the end, seems to do the trick so far...just hope the Genz wheels hold out. Even cut a hole in the Roqsolid cover (i know, that was the sacrilege moment of it all) and stapled up the bottom of the cover where it was catching the wheels. It's totally function band ready.......just a shame it hasn't got a functional inflatable pillow for those hanging around moments at the typical wedding gigs
That looks cool, got any links to what you bought? Is it screwed or bolted? I took mine apart to check for internal clearance. Shame I couldn't get hold of another genz handle to put in the middle. Cheers Thebassman
 15.
I like this idea...... I bought a GB shuttle 9.2 & wish I'd bought ears too 'cause the amp is so lightweight it "floats" around on top of the cab. It's 2.5 inches in height, would I only need a 1u blank plate or better with a 2u? Cheers, J.
2u, if you can get them. it would look a bit weird with 1u and would not be thick enough to cover all the mount screws. Cheers Thebassman
 16. It's even more stunning in the flesh, the pics don't do it justice. It's also as simple or complicated as you want it. You can play it in passive mode with a single tone control or switch to 18v active mode with a 4 band tone control. Cheers Thebassman
