1. This has now sold Thanks for all the interest. Cheers Thebassman
2. That's a crazy cheap price for a cracking amp. Cheers Thebassman
3. My first bass was a Hohner precision, it looked good and was pretty solid , besides the slightly wobbly tuners. My worst bass was a Westone Thunder 3, I thought it was great for a year, until the neck turned into a banana cheers thebassman
4.
Not everything is standard, I added a few extra options. The grey/black cloth is an extra (this includes the surround with the embedded logo which isn't standard) and I also chose the option to have them vertically stacked. All the standard finishes are on the home page of the tks website Cheers though guys, they are definitely lookers!
Certainly looks a nice combination, good price too. Cheers thebassman
5. So, the cabs in the picture, are they the standard option? I can see there are lots of different vinyl/ grill cloth options available. They do look very nice!! What's the total shipped cost for these? cheers thebassman
6.
Symptoms are those of a ground loop. The amp should have a chassis ground lift switch to prevent that.
Hi Bill Thanks for the reply. Yes, it has got a ground lift switch, got to admit, I didn't try that. Would this change with different pa set ups? Just curious as I have never had the problem before, with the same amp/cab, but different pa. Cheers Thebassman
7. I have a genz Shuttlemax 9.2 and genz cab. I have used this setup quite a few times DI'd with no problems, always sounded really good FOH and on stage. This weekend I played a music festival with stage/engineering etc. FOH sounded great, but I was getting some really weird noise through my cab. Sounded a bit like distorted earth hum. This was using the inboard DI on my head, tried post and pre EQ. No change in noise. I pressed the mute button on the amp, still had noise. The only way it would stop was if I unplugged the cable from the DI socket. Any ideas? I'm a bit concerned as I have more gigs coming up in the next few months. Cheers for any help Thebassman
8.
Holy Cow.... that's a lovely bass.....
Thanks Odysseus, she sounds even better than she looks too. Cheers Thebassman
9.
That would make sense, as I usually can't stand tweeters on bass cabs, but the BB2 didn't have whatever property it is that I dislike about them. I'm not sure it would change my life or redefine the instrument (just to make sure I'm stopping short of hype), but it's a good sounding piece of kit. These new 10" designs sound interesting as I've always liked the sound when boosting the high end slightly on the amp (especially with a touch of valvey colouration) then running into a tweeterless cab. It sounds like they may lend themselves well to this approach. Of the cabs I have, the EA Wizzy 10 does this well but is perhaps a touch small when the drummer is going for it, and the 2x12" with B&C 12HPL64s is nice and even through the mids but can sometimes be a little dark and pillowy for the sound I'm after, but it can get there with the right EQ. I'll most likely stick with both of these, but it's always worth looking at the options.
Sounds very interesting, I'm certainly looking forward to hearing some first hand reviews. Anyone signed up for one yet?
10. These are amazing amps, suitable for any situation, if I didn't already own one, I'd buy it in a shot. Cheers Thebassman
11. I've got major gas for one of these. Looks fantastic. Cheers thebassman
12. Thanks for the kind words Dingus. This bass is certainly very unique and very versatile. It looks even more stunning in person too. cheers thebassman
13. Just bought a set of Ernie ball bass strings off of Dingus. What a perfect Gent to deal with. He even sent the strings before I had paid for them. Deal with confidence. cheers
