1. I've had this for a couple of years, and now feel I can move on to a full double bass, so this will have to help pay for one. I'd like £1500 for it, these are well over £4k new now! Warwick's info and specifications: Triumph E-Upright Get ready to be blown away! The new Warwick Triumph electric upright bass is here and it is a beauty. Available in 4 and 5-string versions, the Triumph is a modern take on the original Framus design, manufactured in the early 50´s. The body and the neck are made of handpicked Maple, with a Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard. Onboard you will find a custom MEC alnico magnetic pickup and a set of specially designed piezo bridge pickups, which can be blended and controlled with a unique passive mixing system. You can choose between a natural finish, or even opt for one of the classic Warwick coloured oil stains. Lastly, all Triumphs come with chrome hardware. The tone range is wide and comprehensive, covering everything from the most woody of tones to the nearly synthetic tone that New Age bassists seem to love. Best of all, the Triumph is easy to dial in.E-Upright

4- string
Only available as fretless
Available as right-handed
AA Flamed Maple body (hollow chambered), AAA-Flamed Maple top
One piece Flamed Maple neck
Body rest made of Flamed Maple
Scale:1040mm / 3/4
24 positions
Magnetic MEC Pickup (neck) and Piezo pickup system (bridge)
MEC Piezo Buffer electronics
Coloured Oil Finish
Triumph tuners
Chrome hardware
Handmade Ebony nut
Weight**: 5,5 kg (4-string)
Warwick Triumph Flatwound strings
Including Warwick "User Kit"
Including stand and easy carry gig bag
I would prefer an exchange in person as it would be a pain to post. A couple of demo videos from Andy Irvine. There is another from Antonella Mazza doing a jazz gig, but i can't find it. It comes with a french bow and some rosin, the stand and its gigbag. Some tiny dents in the finish where the 'arm' has made contact, otherwise perfect: I may also sell a yita german snakewood bow + Protec case for £130 + P&P as this can be posted. D.
 2.
Where did you get that number/info? (RH450 outputting 236W)
Bass gear magazine a few months ago. As part of the review process they actually hook the amps up to some testing equipment to see how they perform, they are far more thorough and sophisticated in their methods than the other bass/guitar mags. There's a free-to-read online version you can get the article from.
 3. The best amp I own (for the cost and versatility) is a Line6 Studio110 (75w); however it could never replace my Hartke3500 or heads at that power. However, I have wondered about getting 2, 4 or more of them and running them as slaves, that way you have total redundancy if one of them fails (although mine never has). But then that probably not a great idea for a number of reasons. The cab on the OP seems like a good way of improving that cab if you could risk destroying it, but just buying 2x 2x10s makes far more sense.

 5. Now on ebay, ending in 10 days unless it's bought on one of the forums.
 6. Now on hold in preparation to go to France! Oddly the only other 2 things I've sold here have gone to Eurozone countries - something to do with the devaluation of the £ Vs Euro I think that makes our second hand market cheaper!
 7. The guitar is thrown in for free! :-) Admittedly it does make it more difficult to post.
 8. Hi, this is my Boss RC-50 Loop Station. It seems these pedals are now discontinued, which is a shame as nothing else comes close for the versatility of these things. I've only used it for less than 10 hours, but I managed to create some interesting tracks in that time. The pedal is in mint condition - hardly been out the box and certainly never been out of the house. The manual, power supply, sample CD and original box are all in mint condition too. As I have the original box and packaging, I'm happy to post this. It will go via Parcel Force 48, insured to the value the pedal. Cash on collection is also acceptable. I'm based in Durham. Manufacturer's info: RC-50: Loop Station The Industry-Leading Looper Introducing the RC-50 — the most feature-laden Loop Station Boss has ever built. It’s the best live looping tool ever built for that matter. Housed in a spacious seven-footswitch floor unit, the RC-50 lets you manipulate three stereo phrase tracks simultaneously. Each track supports multiple overdubs, so phrases can be stacked one by one on each track, resulting in a monstrous layer of looped phrases. The industry-leading looping tool for live performance! 7 footswitches for intuitive control; realtime control of playback speed Play up to 3 stereo phrase tracks simultaneously, all synced to an internal or MIDI clock Ultra-long recording time (up to 49 min., mono), 99 patches (3 master loops per patch) Undo/Redo function for recording and overdubbing Center-cancellation feature, "flat" amplifier simulation feature Stereo input, dual stereo output, XLR phantom-powered mic input, stereo mini-jack Aux input (for recording from an MP3 players, etc.) USB port for data/audio backup, import/export of loops as WAV files Price £375 + £20 p&p Pics:
 9.
maybe top button is for the send/return and bottom button for the speaker impedance??? im old and easily confused!
I'm pretty sure you don't need to do anything to change the speaker impedance - you don't on the 3500 anyway. On page 8 of the manual, it details attaching speakers, getting the correct Ohms etc. nowhere does it mention having to manually press a switch - I believe it's automatic. The DI out on the back isn't in the picture in manual, but it is in the block diagram. If you look on page 15 of the manual, there is a block diagram for the 2500. It includes a DI out (look on the right hand side), with 2 switches, one for ground lift, one for pre/post EQ,
 10.
doing the typical boy with new toy thing i finally decided to scan through the manufacturers instruction manual several weeks after buying only to find a small problem - seems as if hartke have left a small space in their diagram where a couple of buttons should be - am pretty sure they are to do with impedance but any hartke owners who could shed some light please on the exact description/configuration would be much appreciated (so far the amp has only been used with both buttons in 'out' position which im guessing must be 8ohm)
No, I don't think so. On my 3500 they are for the DI out - ground lift and pre/post EQ Manual here: http://s3.amazonaws.com/samsontech/related...0_ownman_V5.pdf Seeing as how they have been installed, but not labelled, or included in the manual, I have no idea which way round they are (assuming they they are attached to anything).
 11. Bump! I had Dave take out the 400w amp - although it was very 'hifi', it didn't really kick out the power it claimed, so it's now a valve pre-amp with a 5W valve power stage + dummy speaker. Dave added in an additional low-noise DI, so this thing is capable of powering a speaker cab (16/8/4 ohm) for studio use, or going into a power amp for more power. Note: sounds good with a bass, sounds even better with a guitar! £300 + P&P, would prefer collection from Durham. __________________
 12. Roland GR-30 guitar synth - excellent condition, never used outside the house. Hex pick-up - good condition, slight corrosion to a couple of brackets that hold the p'up - no effect on it's use. 2x 13-pin leads, 1 perfect condition, 1 that has a couple of nicks through the outer sheath where the case nipped it. Musicman OLP guitar + soft case. The PSU doesn't work, but the unit works fine with £5 unit from Maplin, or you can get replacement parts for £6 from ebay. offers circa [s]£200 [/s] £150 Pics soon. 13. Hi folks, after exchanging a few PMs with mcgraham, and doing a bit of research I thought it might be useful to others to know more too. For those looking for more info on these, there seems to be relatively little out there in english, but there are a few reviews and opinions in foreign magazines and forums. The only manuals that I could find were in german on the tecamp website , but google translate helps a lot. http://www.tec-amp.com/fileadmin/manuals/M...l_PleasPump.pdf http://www.tec-amp.com/fileadmin/manuals/M..._PleasBoard.pdf Note that although the board & pump don't appear to be available to the UK, there are some dealers on the continent still selling them for Euro 590 + 790, so about £1,212! http://www.musik-schmidt.de/gb-TecAmp-Pleasure-Pump.html A comprehensive review can be found here in the original german: http://www.bonedo.de/test/gitarre-bass/tec...s&type=test Translated (note, the click-though links to the subsequent pages should be translated automatically too) http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?js...s%26type%3Dtest There is a video of the board in action with 2 glasses of water, one on top, one next to it showing that if you put a huge vibration through the board, it is completely isolated from its surroundings. CONCLUSION TecAmp offers Pleasure Board and pumping a highly professional, specialized solution for the bassist, who runs frequently in-ear monitoring, or in low volume situations not want to do without feeling the pressure of the low-frequency vibrations. The rubber-mounted shaker surface decouples the vibration successfully nebengeräuscharm of the ground and thus the stage floor. While the price of Pleasure Board and Pleasure Pump added (1.350, - €) is higher than for example the DIY package of Butt Kicker (730, - $ U.S.) - but now let's face it: This can not be compared. The TecAmp solution offers practical road use in highest quality, tailored specifically to the needs of bass players. The headphone jack I would replace it with a second speaker jack. A headphone port on the platform I think is unnecessary. A speaker port on the side, alternative to the connector on the bottom, I think, however essential. * Pro + unique solution for bass players + Lightweight and easy to carry, compact + Road-ready + Top quality, powerful + Rubber-mounted shaker platform, so no vibration transfer to the stage floor + Pump with separate entrances on two perfectly matched bass Pleasure + As a stand-alone pumping bass amp to use Pleasure * Contra - Speakon requires a purpose-built cable-angle jack "
 14.
I don't think you'll have much luck. Anything thick enough to withstand the rigours of use is going to act as a fret...
Agreed that anything made from paper or vinyl will wear through, but then at least the material around it will still indicate where the note should be played. My Upright-bass teacher said that when he first started he was told to put gaffer tape across his fingerboard as markers and he knew he had learned the positions when he had worn through it! Anyway, I use something from Staples called 'outline strips' I think they're for making borders on cards. They're really thin and narrow, which is what you want. Here's a link to silver ones: http://direct.hobbycraft.co.uk/ProductDeta...atalogue=280576 I have holographic ones on the upper register of the upright being played in this photo:
 15.
Surly the lack of body on that will just ruin the sound? ANd good luck finding a case to fit it! XD
Really? You think a basses sound mostly comes from the shape or mass or size of its body? IMHO in most basses they have little effect compared to string and p'ups then neck construction but as this is a carbon fibre one piece then the contribution will be even less. A case is the least of your worries if you can afford one of these - the last one I saw on ebay was for over £12,000 and that was a few year ago. They were designed by John Entwhistle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Entwistle who had various companies make them, one of which is Status Graphite http://www.thewho.net/whotabs/gear/bass/ba...#statusgraphite .The shape is now owned by Warwick, so there aren't many CF ones around and there is no chance any more will be made! Considering it was one of the last instruments made during a remarkable career whilst constantly seeking improvement, there's some argument that it's close to the current peak-of-evolution of the bass as an instrument!
 16. They'll sound like a precision and feel like they're made in a factory with six-sigma quality control. Is it possible to be anything else?
 17. Awesome, it's something to look forward to at a good time of year.
