  1. I wouldnt be dictated by the DI - I use a Matamp GT200 which has a jack DI out, but I typically use a palmer PDI09 passive DI box (about £75) which then goes post power stage. Really simple and practical bit of kit and sound guys normally enjoy I have my own DI. I've also recently picked up a Torpedo CABM which provides cab and mic sim, and can sit in the same slot as my palmer - just it's powered. I use mainly for home messing around. ...so I'd go with the amp you desire, whether orange or ampeg or ashdown, you probably wont go wrong (I'd strongly recommend Matamp though )
  2. I had a big sky for a while, but it was waaay to involved for me and I probably didnt spend enough time with it to get under it's skin. I therefore found setting a tone at home vs in the studio took too long. I backed off to a blue sky, and much preferred it in terms of being able to use it and dial in something I wanted from the pedal soundwise whilst writing songs. Eventually I flipped that and just use the verb on my volante - which compared to the blue sky I find really intuitive. Great sounds in the pedal though and it was a toss up on that sort of spend between that and the Eventide H9 (albeit that goes even further). I'd also take a look at Source Audio in that category as they offer some nice reverb and cobined verb and delay pedals. Again these were too in depth for my simple mind to grapple with Not sure if thats helpful. If you fancy it, go for it - I bought my big sky used and sold it without a loss, just on P&P.
  3. The freaker wah V2 (Maxi) arrived! Took c. 7 weeks via USPS, but it's here. Initial impression is it's a keeper. It sounds like it will cut through really well in a mix. The 6 setting selectable voicing is great and the volume pot taking it beyond unity is really helpful as well. Initially I think it's probably more aggressive sounding than my Parachute, but is far more tweakable. Build quality seems good. It doesn't feel quite as well finished as Dunlop for some reason, but it certainly seems robust - time will tell on that one, as I thought the parachute was good to start, but was ultimately awful. Looking forward to playing it in a proper band mix, and just been smashing through N.I.B. on repeat in the meantime! Might be able to upload some sounds. But my playing is terrible.... so....dunno Cheers!
  4. Finished....again... Added a Wilson freaker wah v2. Really enjoying the Cali and the volante.
  5. Hi All, bumping a slightly old thread to see if there was an outcome ...I also wondered if there were any online resources for Sei at the moment as their website is under construction but they dont seem to have any other presence? Thanks
  6. So had a bit of a change of solution as I realistically don't really need to attenuate in a live setting, and just ordered a Two Notes CAB M. It offers DI post power section of my valve amp, with ability to add a cab sim, but also for home use, I can run my board to it and it'll provide power amp sim, cab sim, plus EQ and verb - any of which can be turned on/ off and adjusted accordingly. So I can use the pre-amp on my valve or solid state amp, run a DI out and emulate a valve power section. Looks a neat little box, I'll probably drop my thoughts on it here when it arrives. https://www.two-notes.com/torpedo-cab-m
  7. Looking at this little unit as well... Any experiences on bass? https://www.rivera.com/product/attenuators-cab-sims/mini-rockcrusher-recording/ Apparently I can use the captor x with higher power than 100w but you have to tailor volume which makes me a bit nervous. Thanks for the thought so far
  8. Hi all, hopefully the right forum... I've started doing a bit of basic home recording having bought a Focusrite interface, and downloaded the freeware. I have a head that I use at home but I started looking for a lower wattage amp or pre-amp that I could drive in a similar manner as I gig my main amp with my pedal board. In doing so, I stumbled across the Two Notes Captor X which has really piqued my interest. The captor X looks to be a great piece of kit that would allow me to run my main valve amp (Matamp GT200 - 200w) at home at either low attenuated volume, or silent, and achieve cranked tones into my recording set up, with cab sim options etc. (https://www.two-notes.com/torpedo-captorx). It also offers me benefit during smaller gigs and rehearsal potentially so suddenly becomes a multi application tool and seems good value with the whole package of features. However, the Captor X only facilitates amps up to 100w. I have a question out to Two Notes technical team to clarify, but I wondered if there were any other recommendations that support higher wattage amps please in a similar functionality vein that you guys may be aware of or have experience with? My limited search seems to keep turning up this power limitation so welcome any advice you may have. If this route isn't viable due to a product gap or cost, I'm likely to go for the Two notes preamp and see how it goes from there. Many thanks
  9. Massively reduced my board and feeling happier with it now than for a while. Wah is being replaced imminently with a freaker thays on its way, but really impressed with the volante and the cali76, and the spark drives my amp wonderfully.
  10. Yeah I was looking at the ms3 but I don't think it offers trails/spillover? I'd be putting a delay in one of the loops and need it to carry over when disengaging the loop. ✌️
  11. ..... Pulled the trigger on the freaker. Hopefully here in a few weeks. Thanks ✌️
  12. Not meaning to hijck the thread, but are there any small channel switchers like the joyo that offer trails for delays at all that anyone's aware of? The boss es5 I think does but was after smaller and cheaper ideally...
  13. Ah sweet, didn't realise freaker did the smaller version. Only gripe really is vat and import rates....start to make it expensive. Still they're bloody good. I'll check out the AMT as well, thanks. Wasn't aware of them prior. ✌️
  14. Hi Guys, I have a Chicago Iron wah mounted in a crybaby enclosure. I run it through an LS2 to blend a bit more clean in and boost the signal a touch, and I then have the wah on all the time and just loop it in via the LS2 footswitch. Really it needs re-enclosing and I was also thinking about saving a little real estate. I was about to pull the trigger on a freaker wah but thought I'd see if anyone else had any recommendations currently. I have a geeezr wah that i dont really like tbh, and I've owned a 105q previously and a weeping demon that haven't stayed on the board. What I like about my current pedal is the low end boost/ gutteral type swell it delivers on the heel and the wide sweep to toe end. So I guess my question is, is there another parapedal clone out there thats as good.....ideally an instant on liek the geezer wah would be ace.....but probably a stretch
  15. Been looking at this as well a bit. Source audio are worth a look. Pricey, but as full functioned as you could ever need. Fender reflecting pool Belle Epoch deluxe (tape delay) Also strymon volante, capistan etc. Roland re20 subject to what you're after.
  16. Current home set up ✌️

  18. Played our album launch Thursday night at 229 in London. Put the night on ourselves and had a banger of a night. Went totally overkill on rig, but had a good crowd and played 4 tracks live we hadn't played before, 1 track we haven't done in about 4 years and 2 we were comfy with. Played reasonably and we're tight enough and importantly the crowd seemed to dig it. Took waaay too much rig with me though as there was foh. Band: Gévaudan https://gevaudan.bandcamp.com/album/iter
  19. Playing venue 229 to celebrate the launch of my bands debut album. Three band bill. Doomy line up. 21. Top gear dickinson in my experience with them on their guitar amps. Does this come with a psu, and do you know what valves it's loaded with? Don't need this at the moment.... But I'm still tempted. Any demos lying around anywhere? Thanks
  22. @Cuzzie that is absolute gold XD
  23. New cabs to change to a modular 610. I absolutely love this gt200 mk2 though. Incredible amp, amazing tone straight in and out. I use a pdi09 with it though to get the ower section di'd. My favourite amp ever
  24. Moved from a single 610 to a modular 610. First outing this Thursday. Can't wait! Matamp were bloody amazing sorting the head for me ahead of recording in June. Such top guys. Head sounds amazing.
  25. Played a charity fest in Baldock - Balstock - Al Town venues open up and the whole town was heaving. Great gig in the town hall, venue at capacity and we played pretty well..... Only gripe was the side infill lighting didn't half blind me.... Just about managed to find the notes though!.... Just...
