1. I played through the head earlier this week, albeit into two Barefaced cabs, and can report that it is in great condition and sounds lovely. Also, having now dealt with Mike on a couple of transactions, I have no hesitation in recommending him as a totally top chap to do business with. Bump...
2. I played this bass a couple of days ago and it is the easiest bass I have played since trying out a mate's Alembic Stanley Clarke a while back. There are two contrasting Scott Whitley vids that show how versatile these basses are. I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread Mike?! https://youtu.be/WPRHOREILgw https://youtu.be/xDrR6SGoNdw
3. In almost new condition, just one tiny mark that could even be a paint imperfection. Boxed with manual. Installed battery has had maybe an hour's use. Great pedal, just not getting any use. Pics to follow. £85 includes signed for delivery.
4. Just sold an amp to Tobie and I have to say that he was a pleasure to deal with; made me an offer I was cool with, paid me very promptly, and was good enough to update me when it arrived safely. Thumbs up from me.
5. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
6. These 15" speakers are LOUD and CLEAR. A good choice for someone who wants a single cab in their rig.
7. I had a problem with them some weeks back when waiting for strings. I did get through on the phone and was told by the owner that he had had some serious health problems and that someone was running the business on his behalf (badly it seems). If I recall, they were out of stock of a set I ordered that showed as being 'in stock' but they had omitted to tell me this was the issue. I was offered an immediate refund but chose an alternative set and these arrived ok, but the overall experience was maybe two weeks from order to receipt and I lost confidence in them at that point. It's a shame really because, up until then, I found them to be really on the ball.
8.
Which model do you have, is it the new H115? Cheers, Eude
Indeed it is. 14kg of low frequency goodness. God knows how they manage to get a 15" speaker into such a small enclosure.
9. I agree with Higgie. In fact, I set the gain on mine at just above zero and just use the drive to get the sound I'm after. This doesn't add grit as you might expect, it tightens up the bass and treble in rather a nice way. Also, even though I have an active bass, I do not engage the -10db button ahead of the preamp. Three years ago I had a Stingray/Th500/TKS 115 rig and have tried various other combinations of bass and rig in the interim only to be back to exactly the same rig in 2017, and very happy with it too.
10. Another advocate for TKS here, although mine is a 1x15. It's the size and weight of a 1x12 with the kick and presence of a 4x10. In fact, when it arrived I thought I had been sent the wrong cab because it is so compact. The great thing about this cab is the dispersion of sound, even if you are standing very close.
11. I had the pleasure of seeing Chic a couple of years ago and was struck by how harsh and brittle Nile's guitar sounded in isolation. However, bring the rest of the band in and the guitar part sounded brilliant!
12. Just had the absolute pleasure of meeting Paul to pass over a pedal be has bought from me. A gentleman and very discerning musician. I very much hope our paths cross again sometime.
13. Recently sold a cab to Dean and, although we never spoke in person, the to and fro text and PM dialogue was all very friendly and trusting. Pleasure doing business with him.
14. Bump and a price reduction to £95 delivered.
15. If I had the facilities and knowhow to post sound clips I would but unfortunately I'm not that clever. I'm sure there was a clip on Youtube but I have been struggling to find it. It is a very smooth sounding chorus and has obviously been built to a very high standard.
16. I should explain that, as well as the usual 'Rate' and 'Depth' pots, there is a very useful 'Mix' control that blends effect in with the dry bass sound so that you don't have to have all chorus or nothing.
17. Somerset, but postage is not a problem and is included in the price.
18. I can't fault the cab but I fell for the (much) reduced TKS cab that Bass Gear was selling and that's how it goes...
19. I'm selling ans Ahdown ABM mini NEO 210 cab that I bought new in Feb 2016. It's the cab with Sica drivers and here is the link to Ashdown's description and spec: http://ashdownmusic....30/ABM-210-NEO/ I have used it with a Tecamp Puma and latterly with a Tone Hammer 500 and it has been great in all respects. Condition is 9.8/10 and it comes with a Hot Covers padded cover. It's an easy lift because of the top loaded recessed handle. Postage and packing is included in the price or will meet within a 30 mile radius of M5 J23.
