  1. Now including p&p in the price. Here's a review I found on this forum:
  2. Can't understand a word but this is the a good representation of the sounds:
  3. I have just committed to another bass so this one is on the market. It's a 2010 German made version in very good condition. Notably, the gold lettering has faded on the neck pickup and there are one or two marks on the body that you'd fail to notice unless you were right up close. I believe it is an ovangkol body and neck with wedge fingerboard and it weighs 9.5lbs (4.3kg). There's no neck dive and I have to say I don't find it a stretch to the nut end of the neck either. The neck is beautifully smooth and fast, frets show barely any wear. Comes with original folder that contains Truss rod spanner, instruction manual and tin of wax. Just put a new set of DR Hi-Beam 45-100 strings on and installed a new battery. I will ship in a hard case (the tweed type). The case is too big for the bass really but will protect it in travel. You'd need a gig bag or semi rigid case for carrying it around in. Happy to ship within UK and not up for trades I'm afraid. Price now includes p&p.
  4. To answer a couple of PM Qs, I have been driving this cab with an Aguilar AG700 and it thrives on the power; and no, I haven't gigged it but I would be totally confident in its ability as a one cab solution. Oh, and p&p now included in the price.
  5. Here's a Fabulous 10 month old TKS bass cab in a very classy burgundy tolex, complete with padded cover. It's a 450w 1x12 and 1x6 rear ported cab(latest spec), beautifully built and sounds amazing. The recessed handle is sensibly placed on the top to make it a very easy carry. I built an aluminium frame to sit it on which lifts it by the height of a cab and this is free issue if wanted. New price with padded cover is £630 for one of these. I'm happy to drive 30 miles in any direction from J23 M5 near Bridgwater or, at a push, will p&p at cost. Not trades I'm afraid. Spec is copy/paste from TKS website: Small and light, but with impressive lows and a clear mid range, the 1126 offers a tone few other cabinets do, and many bass players using the 1126 have finally found "their" tone. The great dispersion from the 6" speaker doesn't require tilting the cabinet to get clear mids up at ear level, and also spreads mid range clarity evenly across a stage, making more of the bass tone reach the audience and fellow musicians. Even though the 1126 has more mid range than most tweeterless cabinets, it can easily be altered through EQ to give a more "vintage" tone. Specifications (Specifications explained😞 Impedance: 8 Ω Power handling (high average power test signal): 450 W RMS Recommended amplifier power: 250-600W RMS @ 8 Ω Sensitivity[average]: 94 dB SPL @ 1 W/1 m Sensitivity[100Hz]: 94 dB SPL @ 1 W/1 m Sensitivity[max]: 97 dB SPL @ 1,5 kHz, 1 W/1 m Frequency response (-10db): 33 Hz - 9,2 kHz Displacement: 496 cm³ Measurements (WxHxD): 52x45x44 cm Weight: 15 kg
  6. Yes it was me and I read this with thread interest but have a different take on it perhaps. I cannot remember having ever returned something (musical) for a refund simply because I didn't like it which is, in effect, what I have done in this instance. You could argue that I should have taken the trouble to drive to Warwick to have a proper go on the bass and saved some dosh up front, but a lot of us are seduced by reviews and pictures aren't we(?) and it's dead easy to pick up the phone or buy online... In this type of instance, I sympathise with the retailer because I have basically asked him to send me a bass to try out in the comfort of my own home and I believe that should come at a price if I decide it's not for me and send it back so I do not necessarily disagree with the 're-stocking' fee because it is far less of a hit than would have been the case if I fell out of love in 6 months time for instance. All that being said, it is a little remiss of B.D. to be charging for something they are not legally entitled to but I am not going to challenge them because my conscience won't allow! P.S. The bass was fine but my last four basses have been 3xStingrays and an Enfield and the Jake was poles apart as you can imagine.
  7. You are correct! I rang Bass Direct and they will take it back but there is a 10% re-stocking fee. Hence withdrawn.
  8. It's this bass. still advertised on Bass Direct's website: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MARUSZCZYK_Jake_4p_PJ_Vintage_White.html I bought it one week ago but have not bonded with it unfortunately. Action, fit and finish are all amazing. It weighs just 7lbs 7oz, comes with a nice padded gig bag and I am knocking £200 off the new price and including postage within UK. No trades I'm afraid and my own pics to follow.
  9. More than happy to kick off Graham's feedback. Recently sold him rather nice TKS cab and it involved a leap of faith on his part. After several PMs we struck a deal and the transaction was seamless from that point. Another top Basschatter I am unlikely ever to meet!! I have no hesitation in recommending Graham.
  10. Would accept trade and cash for a really good compressor such as Cali76, Darkglass or Aguilar.
  11. I bought this new from Bassgear in Feb 2017 so it is just over two years old. The first thing I did when it arrived was take the front panel off and measure the driver because I couldn't believe that a 1x15 could be so small and assumed that I had been sent a 1x12!! This thing is really compact - It measures 52cm wide x 24cm high x 44cm deep, that's just over 20" x 18" x 17" in old money and weighs a very manageable 14kg. The recessed handle is on the top which makes it dead easy to carry. This cab is the latest version but with a couple of optional extras. The front is what is known as V-Frame in appearance which gives it a very classy look, it has an adjustable tweeter, and comes with the branded padded cover. 450watts. 8ohms. I have gigged this cab precisely 4 times, twice with PA support and twice without. Other than that it has left the house once every three to four weeks for a band get together. Condition is 9.8/10. If it wasn't for the fact that I was lured by another TKS variation that was close enough to collect, this would be going nowhere. I have used it with an Aguilar TH500 and AG700 with great success. These cabs have serious attack and authority and you don't have to stand away from them in order to hear yourself. Rear ported btw. Here is the link to TKS blurb and a couple of pics. The amp is not included. New price would be £715, I am asking a little over 50% of that and would be happy for collection or meet within 30 miles of J23 M5 or could p&p for a contribution. https://www.tks.se
  12. Great guy to deal with from my experience as seller in this instance. Hope to deal with him again.
  13. Just bought an amp from Pawel and I have to say he's a great chap to deal with, showing an amazing amount of trust as I was abroad at the time I agreed to buy from him. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pawel - the amp is pristine and his packing is second to none too!
  14. Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 amp, bought new October 2018 from Mansons, so just about 6 months old. Gigged only once in that time but used at rehearsals every two weeks or so and at home. There is plenty of information on these on this site, Talkbass (you'll need a day to read this one) and on the Aguilar web site. I have been using mine with a Stingray into a TKS cab and it has been a brilliant combination. I have never felt the need to add a second cab. The TH has a creamy texture to the sound which compliments the Stingray perfectly in my opinion and can do clean as well as subtle to moderate driven. This head is in perfect condition, come in the original box with user manual and (unused) kettle lead and I am including UK postage in the price of £485. I have moved on to another Aguilar head so no trades I'm afraid.
  15. Indeed it is! After I sold it I tried various other cabs from Markbass to Ashdown to Barefaced, and have ended up back with a TKS H115 (and couldn't be happier). I think I gigged your cab no more than three times so it has had an easy life. For any one wanting a manageable single cab set-up, this is as good as it gets I believe. p.s. build quality is great too.
  16. I have no idea why this is still here! At retail price these cabs are value for money - big clean uncoloured sound with fast transient response. I have the latest version and it does the lot.
  17. NO TRADES I'm afraid. I bought this head new mid March this year, so it is just seven months old and is immaculate. The mains cable and mp3 cable are unused and included in the original box. It has masses of headroom, fast transient response and the build quality is fabulous. Here's a link to Bass Direct's info page: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Eich_t_900_amplifier.html New price on these is £789. I'm asking £500 including UK p&p so a saving of nearly £280 for amp that would pass as new.
  18. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  19. I recently had the pleasure of doing an amp and cab deal with Stuart, another thoroughly nice chap I never got to meet in person (typical Basschat transaction?!). I was the seller in this instance and the transaction was easy from start to finish, despite the snow delaying delivery to him.
