Tech 21 VT Bass Pedal – the one that emulates an SVT, and emulate it it does! Been housed on my pedal board so in very good nick other than usual velcro on base. Comes in original Tech 21 tin and has ‘user manual’ which consists of a small card with some recommended settings! Used by me as an ‘always on’ pedal after I sold my valve amp to get me that driven SVT tone. However, ive got a new all valve rig now so this is no longer needed. Collection from Bolton is welcome but will also post recorded delivery in UK for £5 £95.00 collected and pics to follow

8. Yup, im in Bolton and use jack. Locally there's Phil Hartley (uber expensive - £100 for set up and fret dress!!!!), the guy in PMT (never been overley impressed), Andy Tatlock (never used him myself)
9. Sadowsky Black Label flats 45-105 with about 5hrs use on them. Not quite old school thumpy enough for me and my vintage tastes. Lovely highly polished feel and very reasonable tension. Has silver silk that matches the string itself. Had to unpick the silk a little on the E string at the bridge end to fit my epi t’bird bridge. Cut for 4 in line headstock £20 delivered to UK address?

14. Cant seem to edit the price but it should read £250 not £300
15. Ampeg SVT 350H Solid State amp in an SVT disguise. Made in USA Bought this a while back and it has a few issues that I needed to sort:-

It had no knobs at all. These are very hard to find as well. The ones you always see for sale are for the D Shafts used in the valve ampegs. The 350H has ‘normal’ shafts. As such the knobs I bought (whilst cosmetically EXACTLY the same) are not ‘official’ ampeg.
The HT fuse holder was missing – again very hard to find. I found you either has to replace the entire fuse gubbins or search high and low for the correct holder. Eventually I sourced one from USA - £35 for a tiny piece of plastic!
Once id sorted these issues the amp powered up fine and works a treat. The fan is a little noisy so I also bought a rubber gasket that fits between the fan and chassis. This has quietened it down quite a bit. I do have a replacement brand new fan to the correct specs that ill throw in with the amp. The toelx is scraped and brusied. The two ‘biggest’ spots being on the front corners where the wood is exposed. I have coloured this in with black marker and now isn’t too noticeable from a distance. There are a couple of the EQ sliders missing but still fully operational (I use my plectrum to adjust the ones with missing tips) I run this amp with the matching Ampeg 410he and with a VT pedal in from gives an authentic tubey type ampeg growl. Engaging the graphic EQ add’s that chest thump I like. Viewings and trials welcome. Collection will be from Bolton or I can deliver locally if needed. Selling as ive seen something from our very own Mr.Foxen that has fired up GAS again. Pics to follow and questions welcome
16. Yup, based in Little Lever for my sins
17. Still going through flatwounds to find my absolute fave (found them for my P bass but not my Thunderbird) As such I have the following 2 set available for Trade for other flats (ideally looking to try lightish gauge Chromes, Sadowsky, Fenders etc) Set 1 – Elites Detroit Flats (45-105) Had literally 10mins play. Only ‘defect’ is I has to trim the silk at the ball end on the E to fit my bridge. Cut for 4 in line (T’bird) Set 2 – Status Graphite Flats (45-105) Had 1 x rehearsal but were too dark for my Jack Casady (so cut for 2 x 2) Looking for other flats that will fit 4-in-line headstock. Preferably something a bit more modern sounding than full on thud. What ya got
18. My current covers band does Chelsea Dagger by Fratellis and I’m looking for something that will give me a trebly, clanky and slightly dirty sound but enough bass not to drop out of the song – something sounding like what id imagine a Rickenbacker through a valve amp would sound like. Ive tried a Big Muff and also a Boss Bluesdriver, whilst the Boss gets close its still a bit too fuzzy. My rig probably doesn’t help too much – P Bass with Flats > Tech 21 VT > Ampeg 350h > Ampeg 410he. I get that the flats probably wont help but I do believe that the bass player from fratellis also uses flats on a P albeit through an SVT valve amp that probably helps. Is there any pedal that would get me close to this type of sound without costing the earth?
19. My Japanese Fender PB70 has developed a problem in that the G string machine head no longer holds tune. Im looking for a replacement and will probably end up replacing all 4 tuners. I think it is going to be pretty much impossible to find a drop-in replacement set that won’t involve drilling L. In keeping with the 70’s vibe of the bass I have seen the Fender Pure Vintage 70’s Machine Heads that look similar but possible with a larger back plate which could obviously prove problematic. I know there a few PB70 owners on here so has anyone replaced their machine heads at all? If so what with, a cheekily, did you keep the originals?
20. Yup, I could never get a decent sound out of the 120 either. Took it to a tech and had it all revalved and recapped etc and still couldn't get a decent tone at any real volume.
21. Hot Covers everytime, waaaaay better than roqsolids offerings, both in quality and price
