1. The "Trace Elliot" branded speakers were made by Celestion
 2.
so your telling me the GP7 150 combo with the stock speaker at 8 ohm is only 90 watts??? does the mean the BLX 80 with the stock speaker is only 40 watts? does this mean all the trace combos with a number in the model's name is misleading and only put out half the stated number? the 1x15 combos which are all into 8 ohms, so are they are too only half the stated power output??? They wouldn't install a 4ohm speaker with an extra speaker output as the amps can't handle a lower resistance than 4ohm. Mine says on the back minimum load 4ohms You sure I've misunderstood the specs? I dont fink so!!
Yes I am saying that, sorry fella! The BLX80 is a different kettle of fish, it develops 80w into 8 ohms, or full power into it's internal speaker, I believe. This is 150W RMS with an extension cab It's still a great little combo, don't get me wrong, it's just you're misunderstanding the specs I'm afraid

 4. I'm trying to persuade one of my friends to buy this instead of an Ashdown MAG head, will let you know how it goes...
 5. Forgot to say that these amps are indeed the bollox, great little beasts
 6.
nope....you are wrong -- but thanks for being so protectctive to our fellow basschatters!! ... the the speaker inside is rated 150 watts @ 8 ohms , and your right in that the amp says 150 watts rms>>> but at 150 watts @ 8ohms - and 300 watt peak. Peak I assumed was meant at 4ohms - seems logical to me captain. it has an extra 8 ohm speaker output so it max output is 4ohms !!!
Sorry dude, KeV is right and you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the spec! The amp will produce 150W RMS into 4 ohms, with potential to peak at 300W. Into the internal 8ohm speaker it'll produce around 90W RMS probably. The fact that the speaker is rated 150W has feck all bearing on the power output ability of the amp
 7. Ooooh, I will have one of these one day, alas I have not the money at the moment
 8. Great amp, great price, great guy to deal with
 9.
Hi, next weekend we are playing at an outdoor charity festival. They have a PA, but we will be using our own amps. I have a Peavey Firebass 700 - 400 w at 4 ohm, 700 at 2 ohm. I have my Epifani UL 410 - 1000 w at 4 ohm, and a spare Peavey 410 cab - 400 w at 4 ohm. I can't use the Firebass at full volume, 'cos I assume it could blow the Peavey cab ? So, do I need a new amp ? If so, what do I get ? Something that could run two differently powered cabs. Or do I get a power amp ? Do I then use the 'DI' output into the power amp ? What power amp could I get that would run the two differently powered cabs ? Thank You for any replies. Richard
You're reading the numbers on the cabs and assuming they mean something. They don't. In theory the PV cab should be ideally suited to the Firebass head as they both say 400w at 4 ohms, but frankly I'd ignore that... Take the advice of all here, Firebass plus Epi, and you'll be fine.
 10.
Merton has an MB200 that he seems to be getting on with well for example. The convenience you get from these little heads really can't be argued with and they're definitely not lacking tone or presence.
Damn right, loving it. Got a gig in a couple of weeks which is screaming out for it to be used instead of my Eden WT550, can't wait to try it Might do a proper A/B test actually, Eden vs GK, just fo' shits and giggles
 11. Nice, thanks for posting
 12.
Here's my small gig / rehearsal rig...... SWR Headlite with a Working Pro 10 cab. Small, clear and compact.
Christ that's minute! That Headlite can't be much bigger than my MB200, wow
 13.
Those G&K MB200 amps look super cool . How do they sound ? I am thinking of pairing one with my Epifani 110 cab
Surprisingly loud and very clear, tight sound. Reminds me of earlier TE gear set flat but with tonnes more bottom end. Love it Cab now having it's refurb, should be finished this weekend
 14. I've never had to wait longer than about 2 or 3 days for my Hotwires to come through, what gauge/style did you go for?

 25.
yes it isn't fully parametric but the controls do all interact with one another hence us describing it as semi parametric, we will however now simply describe it as an interactive eq if this will make people happier ;-)
Brilliant of you to come on and answer this thread, nice one I don't have aproblem with it being called semi parametric (because it is), I have a problem with that being labelled as "7-band" when it really is only 4 band EQ, of which three are semi parametric Looking forward ot trying one out
