Just sold my Eden WT550 to Tom, top class fella and great player to boot. Cheers
2.
Oh so glad you've come to your senses! What were you thinking? Repeat after me...never sell Groove basses.never sell Groove basses.never sell Groove basses.never sell Groove basses.never sell Groove basses.never sell Groove basses.never sell Groove basses
Hahaha! I know that one too... I have a cream/black Groove just like this, plus a fretless and I REALLY regret selling my old black 5er a few years back. Grooves are awesome
3. Cheers Tom! On hold again
4.
My new rig as of yesterday!
Nice one dude! Your little bro knows one of my pupils, we were talking about you today! He liked your old Markbass rig but I think I would prefer this one
5. I reckon it'll be the lighter ply based upon the design of the silver grille cloth (they both came in around the same time IIRC), but that's a guess only
6. That's a 2103X I think, 2x10 and 2x5. Not sure on value I'm afraid.
7. Basically same as me then, though I like the low mids on it and not the high mids
8.
Definitely. My GK MB500 sounds very GK-like. My GK MB Fusion, because of the valves in the pre-amp, a bit less so, as it`s a fair bit less clinical, but you can still hear that GK sound throughout.
Slightly OT but how do you find the MB Fusion vs the 500? Personally I found the 500 too harsh but love the full fat tones from the Fusion whilst it keeps the upper mids for some bite but not in the same brittle way.
9. This used to be mine. Best bass combo I've ever had. Free bump
10.
Hi, I am interested but a little confused. Is this for sale for 400? It says so in your original post but a later one says 440 on collection Cheers, Tom
Hi Tom, That would be because I didn't edit each post, just the top one! It started at £475 but has slowly dropped. Sorry for the confusion... £400 collected or £415 shipped in the UK. Let me know your thoughts Mert
11.
I have a Hartke LH500 - you wont get Eddie Jackson out of it! Its a lovely warm clean amp but wont give you an edgey grind as it doesnt have an input gain. Even with a Spector like Eddie used to use. I reckon you need a Sansamp to put a bit of grit into your sound. How about trying a BDDI? Its a cheaper option and you could always sell it on if it wasnt floating your boat.
I got Eddie Jackson tones when I had the LH500. Depends how you play it
12. Bumpy, still no Eden love?
13. Based on thw sound you want I'd vote MB500/MB800 but you don't want to wait for the USA ones...
14. Sorry, unhelpful - you know the devil horns? It's them
15. Metaaaaaaaaaal
16. The min nominal impedance of the 450 is 2.66 ohms IIRC so any three cabs should be ok.
17.
No, my comparison was all with using my GK MB500 (yes, have had 3 cabs since Dec 2011).
Ah I see, you tart
18.
It does make a huge difference. I had an Eden 410 that was 103. Amp volume on 3. I then had a Hartke 410 at 99. Amp had to be on 4 or 5 to get the same volume. I now have a Schroeder 21012 at 104. Amp can go to 3, but it be darn loud. 2 and a bit is better.
Is that a fair comparison, coz I think (er, recall, i think...) each of those cabs was with a different head too unless i'm mistaken? Volume control position means nowt

Diago Micropower9

Just pulled the trigger on one, looks perfect for my little board
20. We do this and I have (tp my shame) never sat down and properly learnt it so I just wander around aimlessly whilst watching our guitarists
21. Headroom, indeed. I doubt you'll hear a huge volume difference between the two anyway. I'm on tenterhooks for the MB Fusion 800....
22. Personally of what I've heard (which is limited to the 1518 and 1048H) the new stuff is better. Slightly more lightweight but the sound was fuller and less "middy" to me. THe old cabs were OK for their time but things have moved on. That said, the 1153 is still a great cab today The old 1518 was heavy and a bit dull sounding (IMO - no real low end or high mid) but the new 1518 really sounded good to my ears. The old 1048H weighed more than the UK and whilst the new one is still heavy it's an improvement. Again, soundwise the old ones just seemed a little less full sounding than the new ones. The old 2103H was a bit crappy IME, the horn was awful and the drivers crapped out quite early on. Maybe just my style of playing brought that about though
23. Oh I know I'll regret selling it but it doesn't get much, if any, use now
24. PM'd And a "still available" bump too
