1. The ones with 2 or 3 at the end were supposed to be part of a modular system which all fitted together (ie the 2s fitted together and the 3s fitted together). I think.
2. How much for postage? Trying very hard to resist this baby....
3.
Although I don't use a micro head myself, see this thread for a pic of my cab with a little cute amp on top... It's even called a Vintage, so you can't get much more "vintage" than that! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/191022-used-a-barefaced-vintage-last-night/page__p__1859523__hl__vintage__fromsearch__1#entry1859523
I gigged a BFB Vintage with the GK MB200 a couple of times. That looked great IMO
4. PM'd
5. Bought an LS2 off Ant, dead easy transaction so thank you very much
6.
Initial report, for what its worth. Just 5 piibts for now as I will need to spend some tine fiddling. Ive no drummer to compete with atm so volume levels were relatively restrained. 1. The twin channels. Is there a clear difference in voicing or gain? I found it to be quite subtle. <snip> 4. The deep switch. Magnificent.
1. Depends how you set the gain. I set Channel A with relatively low gain to keep it clean, and Channel B with almost totally cranked gain to get a big ol' dirty mess 4. Absolutely. Unless you happen to be gigging the new Barefaced prototype in which case turn it off before the walls and roof land on your head.
7. The finish is incredibly hard wearing and has proven far more durable than the tolex-covered Marshall and Engl rigs of our guitarists.
8. Bought a Mooer Picthbox off Shep, fantastic service, comms and delivery, cheers! Top class fella
9. Yes please, PM'd
10. Lovely combo, great tone from these. I used to have one with the 4x8 cab as well, awesome rig!
11.
My cab should have similar sensitivity to the S12, but at 8 ohms instead of 4, it'll be a little less loud with the same amp. Mind you, this guitarist was stupidly, painfully loud, and I'd never expect a 140 watt bass amp through a 2x12" to compete with a guitar amp of twice the power through twice the cone area. With the more reasonable guitarists in my band, it does a fine job.
Aha, yes my guitarist is generally quite sensible with his volume control, a rare breed indeed
12. If you have a very sensitive cab the MB200 can keep up with a Mode 4 no problem, mine has done on several occasions (Barefaced Vintage and S12...)
13.
... and then again, perhaps not.
14. Nice basses! I have a seafoam green Status Shark, it's a great colour
15. We used www.awesomemerchandise.com for ours
16. Hi dan, sorry i've only just seen this! It's sold now I'm afraid but there are two others up on these boards still
17. Price drop bump
18. The Fusion is "warmer" and more organic sounding because of the valves in the preamp, and it has a second "overdrive" channel which I LOVE! I tend to run it flat but with the Deep boost engaged, it sounds absolutely spit on. The Mb200 is a bit more clinical in comparison and when pushed you get a nice musical limiter into the mix. Obviously the Fusion has more headroom do not yet found the limiter on it! Hope that helps
19.
I'm near Newark, Notts.
Ah poop, bit far for me to lend my MB200 to you for a trial run!
20. My MB200 is being used as a monitor amp at gigs at the mo, whilst ours in monitor power amp gets fixed. Does a bloody good job too! Whereabouts are you based?
21. Put it this way- if money and space were no object I'd never have sold mine...
22.
Cheers Dude.
No prob. You thinking of the one in the FS section? Go for it!
23.
Never. That level of authenticity is for tribute bands not cover bands. You'll never sound like the original so just sound like you. My brain isn't big enough to remember all the notes in the right places so the band gets my take on the number. Sometimes its close other times it's not. It doesn't matter because we've all got a spark of originality and are just a bunch of guys playing a number, in our own way.
This. Some of my lines are totally different from the original as we play it with a different feel, some are pretty close (or sacred!)
24. One of my favourite heads ever, leave everything flat and crank it up and you'll grin from ear to ear. Only replaced it with a GK MB Fusion for practicality - which is a bit of a daft comment coz the WT550 is hardly big or heavy! Edit: I play in a wedding/function band too, the Eden was amazingly versatile without needing to actually DO anything. Just tweak your playing style and te sound will be there.
25.
Merton, which GK do you have? The MB200 or bigger? What cab do you put it through?
I have the MB200 and the MB Fusion, I was only commenting ont he MB200 for this thread though Cab is a Barefaced Supter 12T, though I have used it with a Zoot 1x12 on a couple of gigs and it's been fine then too.
