1.
Thanks for delivering. Have started working on her. Have put on amps page with pics after cleaning. Will keep you posted how she turns out :-) thanks again
Yes please let me know how you get on with her. Look forward to seeing how she turns out.
 2. Just sold my Fender Jaguar bass to Jonathan. It was a real pleasure meeting & dealing with him. We had good communication between us & it was a nice easy transaction. Thanks very much for buying the bass & I hope you enjoy playing it!! Steve
 3.
Lotsa bass for little money - have a bump on me.
Thanks mate!
 4. There's nothing to see here..................
 5.
Where can I get a small flight case from, the sort of size for leads and a few pedals etc small case type of thing. I've done a few searches but don't seem to be able to find what I'm looking for, second hand/ used would be good. Fank EEEeeeeeee Ta very glad BIGd
Maplins have a set of three for £29.99 (if you're not desperate they sometimes have them on special offer) or some larger coloured ones at £39.99. http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/flight-case-triple-pack-with-dividers-n50ju http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-flight-case-coloured-triple-pack-n31de Hope this helps
 6.
How about a sponsored push up to me in Glasgow ?
Well it is on wheels! It would be OK going downhill (although I wouldn't want to be the one who had to stop it) but when it came to going uphill it would need a winch fitting & a handy nearby tree, preferably something big & sturdy like an Oak tree, to attach the rope to. I'm sure there are plenty of Basschatters who would sponsor you to push it - I bet they would even come & cheer you on
 7.
Living in Leicester, I was tempted by this. However, after some thought, I don't have the skills to check it out for electrical safety. Looks like a nice project for someone with more electrical nous than I.
I did think about you when I put it on here. It's a shame - do you know anyone who could check it for you?
 8. Following a phone call from my Dad I have just re-discovered an old Pearl Bass Combo that I had abandoned at his house around 20 years ago. It is a rare Pearl (as in the drum company) SG-101B bass combo. It's a large heavy beast (I took a pic with it next to a radiator so you can gauge the size) & is very solidly built with sturdy side handles. It is a ported cab with a 1x15" speaker & I believe it's 100 watts (old school watts!). This combo was gigged extensively so has loads of "mojo" from being loaded & unloaded into & out of vans/venues etc. It was only abandoned when I was asked to join a new band as they owned a Peavey T-Max which I inherited. It had been serviced & had a new speaker fitted just prior to being retired. Unfortunately this has been stored in a damp under stairs cupboard so will need someone with electrical knowledge to check it out to ensure it's safe. I have briefly plugged it in & switched it on, the power light lights up but I have not plugged a bass into it so I don't know whether it still works. There was some crackling when I turned the volume, treble, bass & middle dials so it may be that the pots could do with a spray of switch cleaner. As you can see the covering is a little bit "musty" but I think this would clean up - there are tears in the covering & speaker grill from all the use it got. If you want this you will need to collect it as there is no way I'm packing this up & taking it to the Post Office!! Options for collection are: Collect from Desborough Northants (Weekend or some eves) or from near Thurmaston in Leicester (Weekday daytime) or possibly Hales In Norfolk (weekend) at a push. DISCLAIMER This amp hasn't been used for twenty years, I don't know what condition it is in electrically & it has been stored in a damp environment so it is your responsibility to ensure it is safe to use. I would strongly recommend getting the electrics checked out. I will accept no responsibility if you plug this in & electrocute yourself or other people!! Hopefully this will be of use to someone but if no-one contacts me for it within a couple of weeks it will go to the local tip as it's taking up too much space. 9.
Judging by those roots she's an aeroplane blond. Only in this case it might be more of a grey box below rather than a black one.
That's a bit below the belt!
 10. Just done an exchange deal with Grae. He is a really nice guy & great to deal with. We exchanged lots of emails & texts & it was a pleasure to actually meet up with him - it was a real shame that I was pushed for time so had to rush off. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Grae to anyone, you can trade with him with confidence. Hope you enjoy the bass Grae. Cheers Steve
 11. Just bought a set of strings from Tim (Oggy). He's a pleasure to deal with, the strings were exactly as he described them, very well packed & delivered super quick. I'd have no hesitation in dealing with Tim again, trade with confidence. Thanks Tim!
 12. Sold Anth my Vintage Icon 'Jaco' Fretless for which he paid immediately. He's a real nice guy & a pleasure to deal with. You'll have no problems at all trading with Anth. Thanks for buying the bass mate, enjoy it & hope to deal with you again.
 13. *** NOW SOLD *** If you've visited my previous two Garage Disaster sale threads you will know that I'm currently having to sell some of my basses to fund replacing our central heating boiler. Two basses have now gone - many thanks to the bass-chatters who bought them & I hope they enjoy playing them. This is the third bass I'm putting up for sale. It's a Vintage VJ96MRJP "Jaco" fretless. These have a very good reputation due to the general build quality & use of Wilkinson pickups & hardware. I bought it from a basschatter a while ago (I hope he doesn't mind my using his pics!) & other than trying it out for an hour or two I've never used it. The previous owner removed the strings to despatch it to me but unfortunately I messed up the G string when I re-fitted them (they're flats & they tune up OK but I'd be worried that the G will break) so it will need a new set of strings. These basses were supplied from new fitted with roundwounds so there is some marking to the fingerboard which looks worse in the pics than it actually is. It doesn't affect playability or sound & wouldn't be difficult to sort out if it bothers you. Obviously this bass is designed with a relic'd look but it is in good condition. So a nice cheap bass if you fancy a go at fretless or want a backup fretless bass. I'm looking for £100 (+ postage). There are several options for collection – you can collect from Kettering, Thurmaston (Leicester) or Heckingham (Norfolk)
 14. I've just sold my Ibanez Gio to Ed. He's a real pleasure to deal with, he paid for the bass straight away & we had great communication throughout. I thoroughly recommend Ed - you'll have no worries dealing with him. Thanks for buying the bass Ed - enjoy!!
 15. I had one of these up until a few years ago but had to sell it due to money issues. I've always regretted it! One of the advantages of these slot-headed EB's is that there is virtually no neck dive & also they tend to stay in tune when laid down in a case because the tuners are angled backwards from the head so they don't get knocked. Good luck with the sale - wish I had the money!
Hello Gibson Fans, For sale is my very rare original made in the USA old Gibson EB 3 and special fitted hard case. This plush deep set case provides perfect protection for the bass. Original Gibson wine red finish and the rare slotheadstock. Gibson made this rare headstock only in that time 1968/69 to 1971 This great looking slot head short-scale bass has a very nice slim tapered neck and is fast as lightning to play. The EB-3 was made for speed. She is also lightweight, well balance, with outstanding playability. Comfortable weight of 3.7kg! The bass is in very good condition. The neck is straight, frets and fingerboard are great with good string action. All pickups and electrics work perfectly. This fantastic sounding bass has incredible sustain and growls the way it should. Loves to “ROCK” and the neck is easy to play. 4 pickup settings to choose from, with loads of tonal possibilities. Great sound variation, the neck pick up makes the big bottom bass tone alone, the bridge pick up is the sound from a good Fender. The Gibson has all its original parts so will appreciate in value. A good investment and a great bass to own and play. I make my information for the bass with a good feeling and true heart. The bass works great on stage or in studio.
16. I've just sold my Japanese Epiphone EB3 to Julian (Soulman). He paid very promptly & communication was excellent. You'll have no worries trading with him at all. Hope you enjoy the bass mate.
 17. Just a little bump for a nice little bass! mmmmm candy apple red!
 18. I feel for you mate - I've got the same problem
Since my boiler is well and truly dead, this along with my recently acquired Antigua p/j will have to be sacrificed. MIM 70's reissue jazz sunbirst, good nick apart from a few issues - previous owner to me decided for some unknown reason to move the strap pins!? As a result there is a 'new' hole on the bottom of the body, and a 'new' hole on the top horn, along with a paint chip/chunk on the top horn. Plays great and no other issues I can't upload pics from my iPad for some reason? But more than happy to email any interested parties pics upon request. Looking for £400 posted but open to offers due to aforementioned issues
19. Thanks Loz & Prime. Mrs Tazza has apparently been able to calculate that the under-stairs cupboard will be big enough to house the basses I will have left. Well she is an accountant
This and the OP's other ad made my evening yesterday, then my morning when I re-read - such literary talent deserves a bump (lovely short scale too!)
20. Thanks Alyctes - yes I was surprised how good they are
These are very nice
21. Deep breaths - I must not spend the money on more basses & repeat I must not........................... A two part disaster really as our central heating boiler which is situated in my music room (aka the garage) has decided to spring a leak. Luckily none of my bass equipment was damaged but it led to the discovery of my secret stash of bass guitars by Mrs Tazza. So not only have I not got a hiding place anymore I now also need to divest myself of quite a few basses & find the money to get the boiler replaced (that’s the central heating boiler – not Mrs Tazza) or else find somewhere else to live. As I’m quite fond of the current Mrs Tazza I need to comply pretty sharpish especially as she has now decided that my music room (aka the garage) is to be converted into an extended kitchen (I don’t know why because thankfully she rarely cooks*). This is where you, my bass playing brethren, can help. Hopefully you can understand the predicament I am in & see your way clear to buying this bass. This is another of a few basses I have for sale. These are rare in the UK as they were for the Japanese home market only. I bought this direct from Ishibashi a year or so ago at a total cost of just over £400 including freight & import duties. I used to own a Gibson EB3 & regretted selling it & I couldn’t afford to buy another genuine one so when this came up I took the plunge. It is a 1998 (according to the serial number) EB3, 30” scale, has the correct open book headstock, usual three point bridge along with the four position Varitone & choke as fitted to Gibson EB3’s which the current Epiphone & Gibsons do not. As can be seen from the original Ishibashi auction pics (link below) it is in “Roadworn” condition but plays & sounds really good – I think it adds to the vintage look of this bass but if you like your basses pristine this may not be for you. This is closer to the original Gibson EB3 than the later Gibson SG bass both in sound & feel (I have just bought an SG bass so I have been able to compare the two & wouldn’t be selling this Epiphone if it wasn’t for the boiler problem noted above) These do not come up very often although there is currently one on eBay from a seller based in Japan at £394 plus £79 delivery which when you add the 3.7% Import Duty & 20% VAT puts that one in the region of £588 (however in all honesty it is in a bit better condition than mine) so I'm going to ask £275 collection only as I do not have a hard case to post this in. There are several options for collection – you can collect from Kettering, Thurmaston (Leicester) or Heckingham (Norfolk) You can view pics at this link http://sdrv.ms/1fTT8u4 *This may or may not be my little joke depending on whether you are Mrs Tazza or not
