  1. Hey - why not buy mine - then you have all the work already done on it - new adjustable bridge, new strings, pickup fitted, nut height already reduced to ease playing - and for less than the price of the bass you are looking at....... See in this section - Stentor 3/4 bass for sale £600.
  2. I'm in Morecambe near Lancaster! I had thought ( or possibly talked myself into believing) it weighed about 23 kilos. May be a bit too heavy & a bit too far - I'll have a think about it. Cheers,
  3. Hi could you tell me the model of the Carlsbro sub + it's size please? Whereabouts are you in Hampshire - if I were to buy it would you pack/wrap it for me to get a carrier to collect? Cheers.
  4. Hi - good evening - of course, I'm biased - BUT..... You could always have a look at mine! It's a carved top bass with various improvements I've had done to it, a really good padded gig bag & bow - there's a sound clip on the ad as well. See "Stentor 3/4 Bass for Sale £600" in this part of the site!
  5. Hi - do you have a pic of the Pod Pro - or can you give me the full model number so I can look up the manual on Line 6 site? Thanks.
  6. [attachment=65708:rec1204_173012.mp3][attachment=65710:rec1204_173050.mp3] Well now - after trying several free downloads of software & a bit of experimentation, you can now hear the bass ( & my c**p playing!).
  7. Oh - OK - I don't have any recordings at the mo. I'll see if I can find the mini disc recorder & charge its internal battery up - I've got a small mixing desk somewhere to hook up to the recorder. If I can find all the bits & leads I might have a go. I'll put it on my "list of things to do"................................. (that's nearly as good as having done it, but not quite).
  8. I'll see what I can do in the way of recording the bass. Once I've done a recording & MP3'd it (I'll record onto a minidisc player & upload it onto my PC Music library) - what then???? How do I post it to this site - or do I have to email it as an attachment to whoever wants a copy??
  9. Well thanks Phil, I feel the same when I see stuff for sale that I want - it always seems to be on the South Coast or up in Scotland. Cheers.
  10. [attachment=64582:Double_Bass_001.jpg][attachment=64588:Double_Bass_005.jpg] Well here’s my Stentor ¾ double bass for sale – it has a solid carved spruce top and laminated back & sides - the fingerboard is an "ebonised" stained/painted on finish – not ebony. I’ve agonised about selling this but I really don’t use it enough to warrant keeping it plus it’s a large item to have standing about in the house (and I’ll use the money to try an upright electric instead!) I got the bass about a year or so ago for about £600, and I had various jobs done to it & extras fitted, so I think it is a really nice playable instrument. I got the nut re-cut to reduce the height of it to make the bass easier to play in the first position and to improve the string spacing, and had a new adjustable bridge fitted. The next thing was to get the strings changed to a really good set – these are Innovation 90140 Ultra Black nylon flatwounds – they have a big, mellow sound. Last I got a piezo pickup – it’s a SixRounds “Double Barrel” one from the States & the two transducers fit into the bridge slots. The output socket is mounted in a rubber lined aluminium holder that grips on to the strings below the bridge. The work & the extras cost about another £250 (Bridge £35, Strings £75, Pickup £50, plus labour charges), so I reckon that £600 would be a fair price. It comes with a nice big padded Stentor gig bag, a decent bow, the original flatwound steel strings, rosin and I’ll throw in a clip on digital tuner. The bass is in good condition – there are a couple of small marks on the front which I have tried to show in the pictures and a little wear around the edges. I’m up here in sunny Morecambe, near Lancaster - cash on collection please, or I could deliver it within reason by arrangement. You’re welcome to come up & have a play on it.

  14. Here is a pair of Stage Line PAB-252P speakers up for sale as I’ve now changed my P. A. system. The plate on the back shows 8 ohms, 150 watts Maximum power rating. They have three types of connector on the back – Speakon, ¼” jack socket & spring loaded push in terminals. They are 22” high, 15” across the front & 12” deep. Each speaker cabinet has a single 10” speaker and a horn speaker, and the front grille is metal mesh. They each have a carrying strap handle & a “Top Hat” insert for a speaker stand ( to take 35mm diameter speaker stand poles). They are both in good working order, but there are external marks & knocks on the vinyl covering – each has a mark on the top where a bracket was fitted to them when I was doing a residency at a pub - you can see the marks in one of the pics. They give a good, clear sound & I have used them as main speakers for small pub gigs with a duo I was in. As they are wedge shaped at the back they make brilliant floor monitors/foldback speakers. They each weigh 12 kilos, so if I were to pack them in cardboard they would have to be sent separately & by Standard parcels (that would be £15 each, making a total of £30 postage). It would be much better for the buyer to call, pay cash & collect, but I would deliver to within a 10 mile radius of Morecambe for £5 – or I could arrange to meet up with you - whatever.
  15. I've got a new & unopened set of D'Addario long scale Prosteel EPS220's I want to trade for a set of long scale Flatwound strings. They are to go on a Peavey Foundation fretless I've just got. The scale length (34") & layout is like a Fender Jazz bass.
  16. Hi - Do you still have the Ernie Ball flatwounds up for trade? I have a new & unused set of D'Addario EPS220 - Super Bright Prosteel Long gauge strings to trade. I want a set of flatwounds for a Peavey Foundation fretless (which is a 34" scale - styled very much on the Fender Jazz bass) so if yours are for a Precision, they should be OK. Do you know what gauge the Enie Ball strings are?
  17. So let me get this straight about the Roland amp - is it the Micro Cube RX (2.5 watts per side stereo), or the Roland Cube 30X (this is the one i thought you meant - 30 watts, 10" speaker)? Cheers,
  18. Hi - I've got to join in here - I've just got rid of my little Peavey Microbass as it was too ba(s)sic, and the tone was poor. Looking round for a small neat amp that will give a decent tone - the range of amps is amazing. I must say I hadn't thought of the Line 6 110 though, and as regards the Roland, do you lose the sound when you use the line out as it is also the headphone socket, or is there an option/switch or whatever to keep the internal speaker on? How about the Gallien Keuger Backline 110 (2) or the Hartke A35? Also was considering the Laney RB2 30 watter or Marshall MB30. Has anyone had experience of any of these? The trouble is finding a stockist of all the different types to try them out..... I just want the perfect minature, lightweight, cheap, feature filled amp - that's all!!! Oh yes, and if it was inflatable so you could roll it up and put it in your pocket that would be cool as well. Gonna go to the Bacup guitar show this Sunday - there might be a bargain or so - but if not they do a great bacon butty and coffee at a fair price. Anyone else going?
