  1. A really big issue is boxes arriving but goods are not in box !! This was happening with Amazon deliveries where hi tech stuff was removed and replaced by screwed up paper etc and sent to the recipient! Parcel has been delivered and that’s got a POD but nothing in the box !! We have all manner of shipping disputes where the weight of the parcel and known weight of the goods is one way of determining all items were or should be in the box Suppliers have a responsibility though and should always make good 👍
  2. Back on topic again !!! And as already said I’ve decided to get a second amp not a DI or preamp pedal which was my original question !!
  3. Back on topic I decided to get a spare amp or second amp as it will share duties ( not at the same time ) Found pre amps in front of amp slightly less rewarding and nothing gained particularly
  4. Very true, drummers in small venues set the level for the band and it’s tough getting them to drum at a lower volume especially if they are rock drummers !
  5. Had this amp a few years ago but moved it on The Little Bass Thing is a fine amp and I really liked the compressor and tube like feel of it. Will use with my MarkBass cabs and use as a second spare amp or alternate from using my LM IV
  6. Tried the Digbeth and although I could get some nice tones I found it too sensitive to tiny EQ changes and found it ok at best but not worth keeping I feel.
  7. Tried the Ampeg SCR-DI and it sounded very good but I felt the Scrambler tone sucked the bass out! Today the Digbeth pedal arrives so will try that out
  8. I’ve just got the older Ampeg SCR-DI and on Monday the Laney Digbeth Pre Amp arrives I will keep one or the other ! The Ampeg does that low / Low mid sound and into my flat set LM iv it sounds good. Not so keen on the scrambler tone for what I want but the pedal tone fills out the low end nicely something the LM iv cannot achieve using its onboard EQ
  9. How do they rate in power compared to other amps ? The PF500 was underpowered and the PF800 was about as loud as a 500w amp ! If they are true and loud to their ratings I would be tempted to get the V3 if it’s loud enough into 4ohms for loud rock I use a MarkBass LM IV at present
  10. Any more amp pics and condition ? Orange bag included ?
  11. Yep our baseline volume is our drummer ! Everything is balanced to him and he isn’t light handed !
  12. So I assume you don’t gig in pubs or small venues where a full PA rig would be unnecessary in these cases ? We would mostly be playing in pubs and clubs without stages so the old ways still work for us. PA is purely for vocals and a little bit of guitar and kick drum
  13. This seems to be the future with big set ups, no backline at all !
  14. Yep I’ve heard good things about that pedal
  15. It would be used with my amp ( in front of) every gig as part of tone shaping so I would know it works and in the event of amp failure it’s ready as a backup
  16. Well I don’t intend to stop using my own backline and part of the fun is buying new gear 😃 It’s easy to buy an additional amp more so for a change but as a backup it’s where do you draw the line However Pre amp pedals seem to be all the rage these days hence my question if this is the way forward?
  17. Been looking at a second amp head as a back up or alternative flavour to my MarkBass LM4 I thought more about it and decided to buy a pre amp pedal Di instead ! To me I can use it with my LM4 or as a back up to a PA in the event of amp failure Any others gone this route instead of a second amp ? I’ve got a secondhand Ampeg SCR-DI coming my way ( didn’t need the features of the newer model ) and this will give me different tones and a back up device if needed. Cost me around £100
  18. Some years back I formed a band that had a very mediocre singer and eventually I decided to leave as I knew it was never going to improve Some years later they are still gigging as a band or acoustic duo and folk seem to love them but she has a terrible voice. Punters don’t seem to care !
  19. Great amps
  20. Any suggestions for a pre amp pedal to run in front of my MarkBass LM IV to give me mild drive, warm tones, Ampeg vibe ? Must be a pre amp pedal with DI as it will also serve as an amp backup etc if needed
  21. At least they don’t shut down like their class D heads !
  22. Many cabs have rubber feet on bottom and sides now ( MarkBass 58R series ) If I recall with the Monaco the compression Driver is angled / designed for standard vertical use. Stevie offers the option of rotating it 99 deg if you lay cab on its side
  23. TE Elf and a decent 4ohm 210 cab
  24. I agree large rubber feet would make it better
  25. I agree that would be awesome
