1. In this video, (About 0:40) Vix says you can "Blend up to 6 at a time", does that mean this update may actually be coming? Or am I misunderstanding him? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7b26eRD2yS4
2. I never really liked the "Bass Octave" model in the M9(Same effects as the M5), what I use instead is the "Pitch Glide" model, without an expression pedal, set the pitch to -12.0 and the mix to around 50%, you don't get a lot of tone control over it but the tracking is brilliant, will take 2/3 notes and goes looooooow.
3. When dropping my 5 string to a half step down, I'd frequently tune the B string to Ab not Bb for some unknown reason, and the first gig with my bass pod I knocked the tuner reference frequency WAAAAAAAAAAAY out causing everything to sound ****
4. Diplomacy, and being able to think quickly on your feet when things go wrong live.
5. I find them useful, but only really on other peoples instruments, I find it much easier to follow someone who's playing a bass/guitar with fret markers on the front.
6. I'm not sure about this yet, it seems quite similar to the M9 in some ways, including what I'd consider to be the M9's big flaw, in that always on effects "waste" one unit. This is from what I can see, worse on the B3, as each slot where you can have an effect on only has one option per bank. This is even worse when you add amp modelling, as that is going to be a feature that a lot of people will want to use a lot, meaning that those 3 slots will become 2, add a compressor, then its 1....Although this can be got past by using patches, it's still quite awkward. However this may not be what they're going for, and I may be trying to look at it the wrong way, zooms products have always been impressive (I've owned the b1x, and still own the b2.1u) but I think that limiting the options to only 3 slots is partially limiting. My solution? Buy this and stick it on my board with my M9
7. My local shop (Kennys Music in Dunfermline) has so far only ever been excellent for me, 2/5 basses were bought there, the others were all second hand, I've had crazy deals like an already reduced Hartke head they offered to throw in a boss chorus for free. When I bought my basses, they were either really heavily reduced or I got given freebies with it as well. I popped in around christmas time and they gave me some free picks (hardly a big deal, but was a lovely gesture), and I'm hardly a regular. I went in for strings and they priced them with google shopping, not what it was marked up on. I know that they're not going to be able to beat a full online range, but its the first place I'd look and I'm sure they'd order in if I needed something. Not everywhere's great though, my band has a practice place 2 minutes away from a different shop, we get pretty decent deals there because we're in so often, but they're quite overpriced, and my singer brought his guitar in 3 or 4 times for a repair (that he bought from there), and they haven't done anything about it.
8. Have to agree with the Peavey optoin, use a TNT 130 that I bought for less for £100, its older than me but I've used it for the last 2 years in a rehearsal space aswell as the odd gig, great, robust amps.
9. Here's my cheap, mostly "out of date" gear, but it does me well Most of its been updated since my last post... Basses (L to R) Boston P-bass copy, first bass I ever owned, still comes in handy Schecter Stilleto Deluxe 5, First 5 string, build qulaity's not great but it has its moments when it works Yamaha RBX 375, My main bass at the moment Jim Deacon Fretless P- Decided I wanted a fretless, so defretted this, didn't turn out too badly and is pretty good for the money I paid for it, could do with a new set of electronics though. Effects Currently just running the M9, although it keeps finding itself on a board with other pedals somehow The Bass POD XT goes straight into my rigs pre-amp, sounds much better and I'm having lots of fun with it, it'll be its first gig tonight though so I'll see how it really does. Also got some effects that I don't really use anymore (+ A zoom B1x I've been meaning to sell for ages >.<), the DD-2 is broken, I know what needs fixed but the PCB is too tight for me to solder on. And of course the amp, An Ashdown MAG 300H (non evo) into one of the older Hartke 410xls, and a 15" cab thats kinda a frankenstein creation that might have a broken speaker in it, taking the full rig out tomorrow so will find out soon enough I also have a Peavey TNT 130 at the bands practice space, which has kind of been through the wars a bit, but is fantastic anyway Reaaaaaaally want a 5 string Yamaha BB, but gonna get one of the Brace Audio wireless sets first, so me and my guitarist can go for walks on gigs
10. My lil board, Bass-> Boss Bass Overdrive -> Boss Bass Chorus -> M9 -> Amp Things have moved slightly but at the end of the day its the same board Line6 bass pod XT on the way for me to play about with too Edit: Just now its going to a slightly dodgy Zoom B2.1u, footswitches and 1 knob are iffy so it sits on my amp instead as a pre-amp
11. Chasing cars by Snow Patrol, I'll never live that down...
12. Great news about the bass, not so good with the thumb. Hope you have some good luck with your gig and a speedy recovery!
13. Same with my B2.1u, forgets everytime I turn it off
14. Awsome, watching your other videos too, loving them!
15. I have one, they're alright for the money, however I managed to bend the bottom of the case resting my foot on it before I was about to stomp on a pedal (but I dont think that it was designed to hold my weight ). This means that the board's a little hard to close, but its nothing too bad. Apart from that it all seems to be holding up pretty well since January '10, doing atleast 1 band practice a week only picking up some minor scrapes along the way, the velcro that came with it didnt last very long so you'll probably want to just ditch it early on for some better stuff. I can give you pics of how mines doing later on in the week if you want, my dads off with the camera so cant show you just now Altogether if you want a cheap, decent sized board, I'd certainly recomend it!
16. I agree with you, I like them new for slapping, but for picking/fnger playing I prefer them to be worn in a bit.
17. Basses: Shecter Deluxe 5 Boston P-Bass Pedalboard: (no pics ) Zoom B1 (compressor only) Boss ODB-3 Boss CEB-3 Zoom B2.1u (all the effects that I can't afford yet). Amps Ashdown MAG 300 (another non EVO original, bought for me with my own money by my dad) Hartke 410XL Peavey TNT 130 (lives at my bands rehearsal place, is as old as me but sounds AWSOME, even if its not in the best condition) Most of the stuff was bought cheap second hand (not the basses) I'm trying to save money for the rest of my board then I'll look at getting some new basses, and then maybe get a new bass head, if I can manage to find a job after the exams are over then all that should be quite easy, if not it may take a while....
18.
Only downside is it will only take batteries, and I don't know how long it lasts for I can see me forgetting to switch it off.
Depends on how you're powering the rest of your board but would one of these work? http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/visu...onverter--49275 I know it works with a one spot PSU, but not sure if it'll be the same for others.
19. Hartke 410XL + cover, one small mark on it, £50
20. Whats that bit at the bottom of the listing? "Seller assumes all responsibility for this listing." Its his own fault, I'd definitely chase it up.

New tune
I really like the song. Very tight playing. You play exactly what's needed. No overplaying...perfect. Good luck with it - it's a great track
+1 Let us know when there's more up!
22.
I think a precision would be more appropiate. A jazz is getting off lightly.
Maybe going neck first would be too nice aswell...
23. Good call I'd say To Quote maddude in the first post "but when I tell them how far I believe a Fender Jazz neck can go up a colon they soon back off." Maybe we should get rid of all his beliefs about how high it can go and show him for real...
24. Might be the pedal, does it run on batteries aswell? Maybe try it with a spare 9v(or whatever you need for it) if you have one kicking around, some pedals will only turn on if something is pluggd into the input and/or output jack, so make sure there's a cable in it before testing it. Dont know about that PSU, hope you get it sorted!
25. Get this to remind her that its just the rule, in most places that is...
